Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I’m optimistic but 8-4 is probably realistic. We are not better than last year and we had bama and uf at home. And lost to arky.

If we go 9-3 or better like I hope, who do you think our 3 losses would be to?
I think our probable losses are to Uga, bama, and maybe florida at home. The rest I think we handle.

None of the entities that control college sports want to admit that there are only two ways out of the maze: an antitrust exemption or unionization/collective bargaining.

This attempt to re-establish the cartel by a different name is just kicking the can down the road.

I mean from what I've read the law is basically protecting our in state schools from any sort of backlash from lawsuits if the federal government deems the NCAA rules towards NIL to be unlawful.

Basically if we follow YOUR guidance and ish hits the fan we've got a state law in place to deflect the responsibility for making things right to you (NCAA) since it was you're rules deemed unlawful anyway.

I think we got a better chance at beating Bama or Georgia than Florida...is that crazy to say?

A few reasons.

1. Georgia is at home
2. Georgia is early, they seem to have most trouble under Kirby early in the year on the road... last year lost at Kentucky and nearly lost at Bama both games in September. 2023 close game at Auburn in September. 2022 close game at Missouri Oct. 1st.
3. Georgia is breaking in a new QB too (I know Gunner is experienced, but just 1 start)

I haven’t looked much at our law, but it’s mostly irrelevant because all of these attempts to set up a new governance regime outside the two avenues I mentioned are essentially DOA.

If there was another way to do it, our other major professional sports would have figured it out years ago and quit exposing themselves to work stoppages.

I spent a lot of time in the back of a '76 getting firewood.
👀

I thought the 70s were ugly til about 2010, then started realizing how ugly all the stuff is now. A lot of that has to do with I'm a moron, because the mid 70s Fords were always great. Also like the 92-95 Fords. I liked the 96+ when they first came out, but they didnt age well. . . kinda like the camaro's back then. They were cool at first but look terrible now. . . they did get it right with that model Trans-Am though.

College Sports Commission was developed by our fearless leader and is supposedly putting Saban and Texas Businessman Cody Campbell overseeing it... Goodluck..

The Presidential commission on nil doesn't mean ****. It doesn't carry the weight of law. It was a pat on the head to little Nicky because he was crying.

god it’s like every week some new crop of ******** pops up in college athletics I really miss the 90’s & 2000’s man

Facts, and what really sucks as anything about TN draws a ton of interaction....good, bad, irrelevant

You mention the Vols and you're gonna get attention...which makes every "dead" period even more annoying. Once baseball season ends I can only imagine how desperate things get for these pseudo reporters.

Nicky is going to act like he doesn't want to head the commision (be king) and will do so until "he's forced into it" because of the outcry and the need for the sport to be saved.

It is not mistake that the "Clicksters" really know which fan buttons to push. Alabubba, Blowhio State, The Team Up North, and of course the biggest fan reaction button, Tennessee.

I don’t get it. People complain that we don’t have the $$ to keep up with this or that school, then when we actually try and get a deal that will help us with that, it’s not good enough.

If we’re winning nobody will care that we are wearing Adidas

Could’ve stopped at “people complain”.

Bc that’s all they do.

That's a Jumped up dagum lie. We don't have any freaking money to spend. Donde Plowman is crocheting potholders and dishcloths to raise money for cryin in the creek. Heup is forcing his kids to sell "lemonade"(cannabis soft drinks) to raise funds.
Besides if we had money our bargain basement coaching staff wouldn't spend it and if they did it would be wasted because they can't evaluate talent.
