You were born in 85, Bird hurt his back in 86, missed most of 88 with bone spurs, and retired in 92. 🧐 . You are full of crap.

If Larry Bird stayed healthy, there wouldn't even be a debate at all.

You, @Jackcrevol, @BigOrangeTrain, and anyone else that doesn't remember what happened to Larry, read this......

I watched the Pistons win back to back titles in the late 80s, when Bird was still playing at an MVP level. My uncle was a huge Pistons fan. Don't give me that crap.

Here, I'll let Larry Bird himself tell you who the GOAT is: Larry Bird explained why Michael Jordan was the clear GOAT even over LeBron

"Michael can beat you in a lot of ways," began Bird. "He can beat you mentally, he can beat you physically, he can guard you, he can score. I know in my time he was better than all of us."

Bird wasn't even the best player in his era. He literally calls MJ the Goat himself.
Do you really think Larry Bird is going to say anything different? Larry Bird's like,"Yeah, I'm the greatest." MJ is better athlete, but even as a Dr J fan I have to say that Bird was fundamentally the best in an era when everyone played fundamentally. Jordan started winning when the rules were changed. Dr J, Kareem, Bird, Dominique Wilkins, and Magic under the same rules would have averaged 50 a night.

We did OESF this year. Last year was OBSK. Polar opposites but we always do them completely blind so no bias can be involved in the pick
Had barrel picks of most all their variants years ago when I worked at McScrooges during college. I believe the OESV was my favorite, but I could be misremembering.

My coworker says Blacksburg is like Athens in that it basically grew around, and because of, the university and that it’s the definition of a college town
Back in the dark ages (mid 70's) I did some work at both Clemson and Miami of Ohio where the towns had a red light entering and exiting town. Today the population in both is less then 23,000 compared to Blacksburg @ 45,000 and Athens @ 128,000 . Student population today @ Clemson is over 25,000 and @ Miami of Ohio over 18,000. Great college towns because without the Universities towns would be a crossroad on a map.

They're saying that because white dudes seem to root for this white dude. No matter how much logic or reasoning you give them.

Arguing pro Bird as the goat is like me saying

'Bob Ross is the greatest painter ever.'

'What about Davinci, Sistine Chapel, and all that?'

Anyone, with any shred of any logic who takes breath knows. There is only one, and its 23
Agree with you on MJ, but seriously with that line?

Tim Duncan's a much better PF than LeBron.

PG- Magic
SG- Jordan
SF- Bird
PF- Duncan
C- Shaquille

That's your 5 greatest of all timers at their natural playing positions. (For reference, I'm 50.)
This is some ageism right here. How dare you not include someone from the Russell era.

So who ya got from the current generation that may make the 'all time' team (not named Lebron). I could see Giannis eventually pushing in as the starting forward. And oh lawdy, how far will Wembenyama go? He could revolutionize the center position.

I would have agreed with you in 2022 ans 2023 but as the NIL and transfer portal continues to spiral out of control, the parity will be worst than ever. I think with a little structure the parity will get there. But I dont really need to see a 16 team playoff in college football. I think it waters down the regular season. There were a lot of important games to see who was getting those last few spots, but all those teams got killed in the first round. Its only going to be less exciting when you shift that back 4 spots.
I disagree. Last year was awesome and had excitement going to the last weekend with going from 4 to 12. And watching more games against good teams was awesome. I hope they go to 16.

My 'Lebron' will destroy your Duncan.
Its a good thing that we don't have to guess. They played against each other in a championship series.

Lebron avg: 22 ppg 7 rpg 6 apg 1 SPG .5 BPG 5.8 TOPG while shooting 35.6% from the field 20% from 3 69% FT with a +/- of -1

Duncan avg 18.3 ppg 11.5 rpg 3.8 apg 1.3 spg 2.3 BPG 2.8 TOPG while shooting 44.6% didnt attempt a 3 62.8% FT and a +/- +24.

How was there any excitement? It was pretty clear from the jump that Ohio State was going to run the whole thing. There are only a handful of teams that have the depth and talent to go that deep into a playoff run. They'll keep expanding it and watering down the regular season. It sucks, but those that share your opinion are definitely going to get what they want.
