Maybe everyone just chill. Didn't know the full story a day ago. Probably don't now. Can we not just chill and reflect down the road?

The whole story is that our overpaid starting QB bailed on the last day of spring practice. Unless it comes out that we reneged on a commitment (which has not been suggested by anyone) it's 100% on the kid who didn't think $2+M was enough for his decent-ish performance. We have every right to be mad and they deserve every bit of bad press it brings them. Don't like it? Honor the deal you committed to.

The more I read the more I feel Nico’s camp sorely misread the landscape and underestimated the weight their actions carried. The kid had the keys to this city. Now he’s gonna have the keys to his lambo and that might be it.

He’s from California. I doubt he gives a **** about Tennessee or Knoxville at all. I don’t think any of that mattered to him. Paycheck does, though.

Oh fine, since no one else said it…GMac looked night and day better than Merk, granted there’s a ton of moving pieces there, but that’s my thoughts after the game

I was more excited about GMac than I was Nico or Merk. I’d love to see us hand him the reigns. He’s a pretty classy guy, which also helps.

Agree. I’m hearing it was actually the team leaders that put nail in coffin for Nico. In the end, I believe a net positive, and cautionary tail for some of the players on the team. This will be a good thing for the squad.

We lost our starting qb because someone leaked a rumor of a contract negotiation.

It doesn’t get any more fragile than that. Can’t believe we continue to fumble the bag and the management of our undeniably most important program.

No. We lost our starting QB bc he and his camp was shopping him around and was trying to hold UT hostage to force the 4m. The only thing fumbled was from Nico’s camp; along with the Taxes for Dummies book apparently.

Btw, we didnt run any pistol sets, the formations remained the same. Only thing I really noticed was the TEs lining up deeper in the backfield

The funny thing about backup QBs is that it's hard to predict how good they'll be in actual game time. In 2021 nobody expected hooker to come in and outshine Milton. Yet he did.

I would say people have been pretty reasonable considering the stunt nico and his crew pulled.
