I was strictly trying to discuss Abdul and his ranking but 3 pages later, Im not sure whats going on..

Ado's ranks as listed:
#74 Rivals
#101 247Sports
On Scout he's the #1 center in TN and #26th best Center in the country.

I just wish we knew exactly what the staff thought of this guy, still seems silly to pass up one of the better players in Tennessee. But I also understand his background and his history (not a lot of history in Tennessee).

So you think it's silly to pass on Ado, but not Blackwell?

What I'm saying is Ado was top 15 by every service, how he's 74 on rivals, unranked by scout, and 101 on 247, it's quite obvious his stock is plummeting, just like blackwells.

Since I believe it's obvious we aren't getting Blackwell, figure I'd re-do my wish list.

Agreed

CRB is really putting his neck on the line concerning Blackwell and Ado.

He is(was) passing on both guys for lower rated out of state prospects that aren't being recruited by the SEC and in some cases any power 5 schools at all.

Will be interesting following both of these 2 careers but if either end up being good players against us there will be serious egg in CRBs face

curious who falls into that category?

And for whatever it's worth, I think Barnes is at the point in his career where he's not overly concerned about "egg in his face".

Agreed on the second part. I am sure he will even feel his career is a success regardless of what happens here and that worries me greatly. It's true but that does us zero good.

Williams and fulkerson are the two I was mentioning. I know you are going to say they have offers but when schools like charlotte, Yale, and Princeton make the final choice list and power 5 schools don't even make the OV list that tells me they weren't seriously pursued by those schools

That seem like quite the assumption, Boston College was trying to get Williams to visit, he had declined, they're a P5 school. Clemson was trying to get Fulkerson to visit, and iirc VQ said South Carolina also was, he didn't set a visit up with either, both are P5 schools.

I understand and won't argue with that.

I hadn't heard that in fulkerson with USCe but I always wondered why he wasn't involved more with Georgia and Clemson. I assumed it was because they weren't really pushing him. That certainly could be a flawed thinking

However Blackwell and Adu both have significant higher profile offers and recruitments(OVs) than Williams, Fulkerson, or any other of our recruits for that matter.

Doesn't mean the staff is wrong but it does put them in a place to be second guesses a few years in the future if things don't work out with these choices

Agree 100% with your overall point, just was pointing out the flawed statement making it sound like those guys weren't being recruited by any P5 schools, that simply wasn't true.

I do think it'll be interesting watching Ado/Blackell/Fulkerson/Johnson/Williams/Fernando over the next few years.

We spend a lot of time discussing/arguing about recruiting but the real success or failure is shown 3-4 years from now.

I ridiculed CCM about his recruiting and now in the aftermath I would give him a solid B or maybe even higher grade because of guys like Richardson panning out.

Not to start a riot, but this is one reason why I have said I felt Martin would be successful here. His recruiting to me was good enough to get by, and was improving, he was also learning as a HC. If you recruit those 4 years guys and you don't have major attrition, you can develop those guys and by their junior years have guys like Washpun and Richardson contributing at a high level. You look at all the talent Martin did have on paper (Swiper, Hall, McRae, Maymom, Stokes) and yet the guy who's most likely the most successful is Josh Richardson, a 3* ranked in that ~130 range.

That's why I'm not as down on guys like bone, Okogie, johnson, Fulkerson, and even Williams...you get guys like that who are talented, they're not scrubs, and will stay 4 years and work hard and you've got a good foundation IMO.

I would take CCM over CRB right now.
