Recruiting Discussion

Right, I said 3-4 HMs are, LSU and auburn are 2 of them.
And what's wrong with that? It's better than Jalen Johnson's Texas Tech and Providence offers. Bruce Pearl and Johnny Jones know what they are doing in terms of recruiting, I would not overlook those offers.

Abdul is still a top 75 player (#74 overall Rivals).

Imo, currently auburn and lsu are better offers than Louisville. Louisville is on the decline ( crazy saying that since they still have some talented players, but it's true.)
And auburn and lsu are rising.

Blackwell set up the visit to Tennessee just a couple days ago, why would he set up that visit if he had no interest in taking it? I completely get what you're saying, and how it looks, but again, you have to use some common sense and if you're gonna tout everything else VQ says then I don't think it's fair to leave their opinion out on this one.

How in the world do we know who set up the visit? Not sure why it matters anyway

Since you bring up common sense it appears to me an 18year old kid just taking visits for fun as you have posted would pick a weekend where there was fun to be had. OU, Ark, or Georgia weeks would appear would have been my choice.

Seems much much more likely that the staff initiated the visit for this weekend than he to me considering they knew the bad news of Jenkins and potentially others.

The Ivy League academic discussion has been discussed here before.

I won't think losing a kid to a Yale is a disgrace.

It's a plenty fair decision IMO

Not at all. If its between Yale and UT, its a no brainer!

Pun intended

Only issue to me is if the kids mom works at NASA then that likely means attending Yale is going to cost the kid a boatload of money. That would be disappointing to lose a kid under those circumstances but still not disgraceful

What's he rated by 247? By Scout? Blackwell is still a top 100 by rivals, but if you look at the trend both like guys are dropping like rocks, and don't show signs of stopping.

Jalen Johnson also has a Florida, Tennessee and USC offer, however I never said his offer list was better, so I'm not really sure where you got that from?

Who said Blackwell was given a choice to pick whatever weekend he wanted to visit? To me it seems pretty clear the staff once again showed their lack of interest by saying sure you can come in next weekend, we've got no other visitors scheduled and there's no football game and Barnes probably has plans to be elsewhere.

That again seems to be the part you're missing, it would require missing on a lot more than just Jenkins and Williams for Blackwell to become someone this staff wants, that's the part you don't seem to be including into the equation.

BTO this is getting comical.

So the staff told him sure he could come this weekend but a few days later told him no he couldn't.

Use your own words to think about that.

Common sense.

Lsu has the #1 player and another top player, Bruce has pulled I think a top class next year, Louisville doesn't have much right now, nor next year. They got killed in Rico last month.

Johnny Jones has pulled in great talent the last couple years also, not the #1, by still some great players. Jones is said to be on the hot seat, if he doesn't produce some big time wins and a deep NCAAT run this season LSU will be exploring their options. As for Bruce, he is recruiting well to auburn, which is not a shock to anyone, but I'm not ready to say he's all of a sudden got auburn as a national title contender. I understand your hate for all things Kentucky, but UofL had the #9 class in 2013, #10 class in 2014, #9 class in 2015 and has a 5* committed already for 2016...so they are showing absolutely no signs of declining anytime soon.

Just did some research, this years classes
Lsu 3
Auburn : 19
Louisville 9

2016
Lsu 34
Auburn 9
Louisville 40

While the 2016 class rankings will change, I doub Louisville makes a big jump.

Oh, I love Louisville. Considering going to college there. Huge pitino fan, but they have lost some of that "luster."

Again, you want to pick and choose what you believe.

Is it possible when scheduling visits Blackwell picked that date on his own, the list was released and coaches got in touch with him saying that weekend wouldn't work for them? Is it possible he called the staff and asked what dates would work, they told him next weekend, but since then have been in touch and told them they'd like to reschedule because Rick Barnes is going to be out of town?

The funniest part of this whole deal will be if he still visits, obviously your theory is clearly ridiculous if that still happens.

Go back the last 2 years on your research, Lousiville is taking a small class in 2016, their one commit is a 5*, they've clearly not lost any luster or are having issues bringing in talent.

Ok, we'll see when the season starts who has the better one.

Lol

So the kid picks a date without the coaches consent and the info was released as him coming and now our staff says no dice? It's getting even more comical

Not even sure why any of this matters but if you keep slinging reasons out there you are bound to get it right sometime.

Sounds like someone I know...

Louisville, but if one season isn't a trend, why does that matter ? I know one season isn't, but that's contradiction imo.

No that was my point, Lousiville has been better than auburn and LSU for how many consecutive seasons? Yet if Lousiville has one down year while those 2 have one good year, all of a sudden Lousiville becomes irrelevant? My point with the recruiting rankings is they've had 3 straight top 10 classes, if they were recruiting poorly your arguement would have some weight, but given that pitino is still the coach, and they're still recruiting at as high of a level as ever, I don't see them falling off the map.

Their not gonna fall off the map, but they will take a dip here soon. I mean when was the last time lousville wasn't in the top 20 classes?

Louisville had the #1 2015 class according to ESPN. Their 1 recruit for 2016 is the #6 PF (27th in ESPNs Top100). With highly rated wing V.J. King's commitment and a leftover scholarship from the 2015 class rolling over, Louisville still has two more scholarships open for the 2016 class.

They won't finish out of the Top 20.
