Recruiting Discussion

Reminded me a bit of Nichols, supposedly staff felt very good when Polley left sunday, VQ texted with him Monday before he met with Ollie and were gonna do an interview that night. Ollie goes in home and Polley no longer would return VQ texts or calls, the fact he went dark on anything from Tennessee's side was a bad sign.

They've gotta land Uyaelumno, absolute must get, Stokes is gonna drag out awhile I feel like.

Looks like the tea leaves are pointing toward USC on Uyaelumno.

If we don't land atleast one of Victor or Stokes I will be embarrassed of how bad that our coaching staff did this cycle. I'd hold the 2 schollys and get 2 grad transfer bigs for next year. Then we have 3 scholarships for 2018.

Uyaelunmo announcing Friday, USC visit this past weekend and their coaches went in home last night, have to think Trojans are the pick. If Barnes' goes 0/3 on Polley/Stokes/Uyaelunmo that would be pathetic.

Evidently, he can't recruit here like he did at Texas. He has to get out and get into homes. this would really be bad.

Hearing that Victor Uyaelumno is going to cancel his visit this weekend and will commit to USC following his visit to Los Angeles. That's second hand as have not spoken to Victor, but feel pretty confident that is going to be the case.

It's sad that he won't even come in for his visit...

He could have came in, seen what we had to offer then make his decision. This is getting embarrassing.

OK (Orange-tinted glasses on), Stokes told us he's coming, but wants to take his visits. Coach thinks he's gonna be so good, no reason to take another big, unless he's exactly what we are looking for. Decides to pass on Victor. Holding the scholly for someone else, either later this year or next...

Guys, I've added some 2018 & 2019 individual recruit threads to the basketball section. All recruits posted thus far have scholarship offers from UT. Thanks!

Anyone want to apologize to me for how I was treated here all last year regarding Barnes?

This is freaking sickening

Why not let it play out? Get off of the ledge... with such a large 2016-17 freshman class many 2017 recruits might fear little available playing time. Barnes should focus on development of the current roster. Later on worry about the 2018 and especially 2019 signing classes.

I'm posting 2018 & 2019 recruits so members can get a heads-up on the recruits that we have offered & could possible become Vols in the future.

I don't know that what you posted was intended for me but that's how I feel about it if so. Thanks!

Vols just offered Sterling Manley, 6'10" 230lbs, biggest offers from Xavier, West Virginia, Pittsburgh...UNC coaches were in to see him this past week.

TN is still damaged goods. The athletic director to be hasn't been finalized. Barnes may not be the coach for 4 year players through their senior year. Players at UT are unlikely to be in the NCAAT in 2017 and maybe not in 2018 either. But the biggest disadvantage was that Bruce lied and was fired, UT was mean to Cuonzo, and Donnie cheated, lied, and was fired. That is a huge dumpster fire. I don't blame any highly rated recruit to be turned off by an opportunity at UT... especially if they expect to be the beneficiary of recruiting perks. It will be a long process to get TN back to a good program. Overachieving on the court in 2016-17 will cure a lot.

Big time recruits do not want to play on bubble teams. They want a very high probability of participating in the NCAAT.

Running off Barnes will not fix the mess. It will only extend the time line to get TN repaired. It took two decades and 5 hires to fix TN basketball after Devoe was fired.
