I totally agree. People are so naive when it comes to this topic. Do they not understand the situation that he came into? We were a pile of ****. I think he gets at least 4 years.

Agree. The thing about 2 consec 6-6 seasons(probable) is that improvement is almost inevitable. The question is, will it be dramatic improvement? I think 8 is the big # for 2012, and it also depends on who those 8 are. Beating a rival and going 7-5 could save his job perhaps. I can't believe 4 years is guaranteed, but likely due to the fact that improvement should be automatic. If UT is 6 or 7 wins next year, and there are 80k in Neyland most Saturdays, then he is in trouble. I think 8 wins is the minimum next year, with all the players returning and healthy, and experienced.

I have been a Dooley since he was hired. He should get until his freshman class gets to be seniors. By then we will know what we got. Me for one believes he will be here for the next 20 yrs.

Why is that. I believe he will do better than that. But the seniors next year is Kiffin's only class. What's left of them. Guess that's Dooley fault too.

I wanted 8 this year, I'll give him the pass loosing Bray and Hunter. It would really help Dooley out if he can beat both Ark. and Vandy.

Only time will tell. Patience is what this calls for on our part. Despite all of the evidence of possible poor coaching, I find myself rooting for this coaching staff to turn it around. With a few good breaks and a couple of the stud recruits we still have on our radar, things could go their way in a hurry.

Unless next year is a complete disaster, I don't think Dooley is going "nowhere" in 2012. 2013, now that's a horse of a different color.

Just ONE QUESTION...IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE...WIN IN THE NEXT YEAR OR ELSE....FANS.....JUST WONDERING IF YOU ARE IN IT FOR ANOTHER 4-5 YEARS>>>>when hiring another NEW COACH.....if your not then many be you should be more patient...because....just talking to a USC fan...you should have heard what he thinks of our recently ex-coach....OR WE COULD HAVE HAD EVIL EYES....from Texas.....sometimes you need to look what could have been...then be glad we have CDD..

Look, I understand both sides of the argument. But lets be realistic, if he doesn't produce next year at least 8-9 games, we really need to gauge interest from some up and coming smaller conference coaches, or an established veteran. There are many instances around the country that show holding on to a coach too long (UCLA) will only hurt you more. It will only take so long before the recruits start to notice the HC isn't producing and will decide to go somewhere else. So if he produces....GREAT! If not, it's time to for a split. He helped stock the shelves for the next HC and I commend him for that, but next year we need to see RESULTS!

If we stay healthy next year and finish in recruiting like we should this crap goes away, IMO because he will win. Hell IMO he would have won 8 or more this year if he wasn't facing a season with one leg and one arm (hunter and bray) strapped behind his back.

Tennesee won 7 games before Dooley got here and 6 his first year.

If he's still at 6 in 2012, it means he made little progress, despite a better roster and easier schedule. That would be really awful.

If Dooley wins any less than 8 games next year, there will be no year four.

If Dooley has a 6-6 season next year there is no way he survives.If you think 6-6 will keep stability in the program then keep dreaming.Im not sure he survives 7-5.

If he is bowl eligible for the first three years, I think he deserves a 4th year.

I believe you should have till your first class are seniors.

JMO.

Agree. If he still has a split fan base next year Hart will bring in a big name. This team is built to be solid in 2 years so almost anyone would look like a dynomite hire and savior of the program.
That being said winning is job security.
Hope Dooley deserves to stick around for a while.

to be honest,i think Dooley needs 4 yrs from the end of this season,to get his players in and get them coached up the way he wants,he is pulling in a lot of very good recruits,i hate to say it,but there is just a overall lack of talent right now and it is going to take a long time to get over it and i see no reason for any coaching changes for at least another yr or 2 either,they all have the same problem with talent or lack of,this is just my 2 cents worth
