I've never been a Lil' Wayne fan myself, but there are a lot of people who think he's the best the grace the face of the Earth...
Since you consider yourself "in the know" who does have flow, cadence, lyrics, and style? I'm curious as to if we have the same taste in rap.
He's grown on me over the past 3 years, but I can't put him in my all time top 10. But his flow and some of his lyrics are tight. His ability to freestyle is questionable.
well during the first few acts, the atmosphere was dead because they were just awful. but when Weezy came out..man, i have never heard/seen anything like it. also, the concert was badass. you were right with the whole they just play a little of the song, but i dont even care.
If that's your opinion, I'm going to guess you never saw Public Enemy at their height, the original lineup of NWA, DMX before he lost his mind and decided to be in a movie with Steven Seagal, any of the Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg shows during the Chronic/Doggfther era or Ice Cube or Ice-T.Wow I just looked the show up and it was $55 plus I'm sure lots of fees. To be completely honest with you, expect to be disappointed. No rap concert is worth that much.

I figured that was the case. Didn't check your profile to see how old you are, but you come across as a smart guy and I can't imagine anyone seeing those artists in their prime and feeling ripped off. I actually cosidered going to the Lil' Wayne show tonight, but the new girlfriend isn't a rap fan. I'd bet Common, Ludacris, and TI could all deliver a $55 worthy show in a 2,000 seat or smaller venue. Rap does lose a whole bunch in translation when you're in a 25,000 seat mega arena. No I didn't. I've only seen the fools that run the show today. The concerts are always a fun time but not worth forking over big money. I would love to have seen some of the OG's back in the day.
Unless you're the headliner making a fat stack of cash, why would a hip hop or R&B artist of any stature want to play Knoxville?I dont know why they couldn't have a better lineup..Lil Wayne is one of the hottest right now. First it was some R&B dude, then some douche bags, one was white, Mr. Mac, and then some other guys that i think just got pissed and walked off the stage. One of them was like F ya'll and threw his mic down.
