I would just wait until I could spare the time to buy a newborn pup and stay home with him for several days straight. You make or break a good dog in the first week or so, IMO.

In your situation, you should consider rescuing.

Oh, yeah, I would want to get a dog that was a rescue, and at least one year old, if not a bit older.

By kitchen, do you mean "guns"? Sadly, that was not my kitchen for long. But, the kitchen I have now has a lot of dishes to do and tons of meats and cheeses and breads to make wonderful sammiches with.

Awwww shoot. I like to actually "cook" you know, apply heat and seasoning with food in different combinations in conjunction with various sauces to make a meal :)

I have cooking utensils and I still have a small dog. You'll probably cook a meal for and make out with your first liberal by early November, imo.
