I absolutely hate it when they interrupt regular television shows to "alert" us about a tornado/storm warning. I realize this can be important, but if you're already watching television then you've clearly seen all of the alerts that are already scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Plus... they tend to repeat the same information over, and over, and over, and over when they could just interrupt... tell us what is happening... and then go back to normal programming in less than 30 seconds.

They are warning a whole viewing area which includes a crap load (100,000+) of people. So if they have to warn a small part of the viewing area, that includes you. If it can save a life, surely you wouldn't mind getting interupted a few times would you?

Any news Sly?
Nothing lately. Still good, I'm assuming. I talked to my SIL. Found out she got to see him earlier than they thought because of the storm lock down at the hospital. He was supposed to move from recovery straight to ICU but they're not moving anyone anywhere because of the alerts. They were in a gray alert, whatever that is, on my last contact.

My viewing is never interrupted. 'Course, I don't watch TV either. I can't believe that huge tornado stayed on the ground like it did. Bammer still gettin' it.

I don't mind at all, but they go "far beyond" the warning which should only take less than a minute if it is really a WARNING. The guy told me 5 times during the interruption that the tornado may be a mile wide, and repeatedly said to seek cover if you are in the area being described.

Guess what... if I were in the area being described I would no longer be watching TV because I would be taking cover in my basement. So who is he still talking to after he has already given the warning to take cover?
