Okay I admit I have no clue...what is the inverted W and why are scouts critical of it?
Not sure if anyone else answered or not. But it’s when the pitcher picks up both of his elbows above his shoulder creating the inverted W. This puts a lot of strain on both the shoulder and elbow, which many think can tear the ulnar collateral ligament, which stabilizes the elbow. Causes lots of pitchers have elbow trouble. Mark Prior for the Cubs was a classic example.
During the delivery (motion toward the plate). If your elbows are up like that, when your shoulders start to turn toward home plate, it creates a whole lot of torque on your throwing arm (elbow/shoulder) in order for it to try and catch up. It’s kind of like a golf swing with poor fundamentals. If your shoulder turn is funky or late, you will try to overcompensate to correct it at impact. And the overcompensation is what leads to a golfers poor contact, or in Prior or Rockers case, extra strain on ligaments while throwing.I still don't understand. Do you mean when the pitcher is in the windup? How could that strain the elbow?

But if the over all point is, if they don’t sign him, he should have the ability to move on to another team, I agree.
Was thinking something similar, if team can’t reach an agreement with a player, then other teams could sign him for a certain amount (maybe at least slot value), would be similar to the waiver wire. Problem is, players may use it to pull a John Elway/Eli Manning and control which team they play for.
I think he comes back to Vandy but does not play baseball. He will either have surgery and rehab for next year’s draft, or just rehab with no surgery for a year. If I was is his shoes, I would never let Vandy’s pitching coach even talk to him.TJ surgery, if rehabbed right, can increase velocity, but it takes about a year rehab. I doubt Rocker comes back to Vandy. If he has elbow issues the last thing he needs to do is hurt it playing again for Vandy. Rest might be all he needs. I think He’ll sit and wait for draft next year.
This will be used against Corbin on the recruiting trail, as it should.
How is this going to go against Corbin? He never threw more than 117 pitches. He pitched 122 innings in 20 games. That is 6 1/3 per start. Cheeze threw 103 innings in 17 starts. That is 6.1/3 per start. Ty Madden threw 113.2/3 in 18 starts which is a higher pace. No one even knows if he is injured and the extent. This smells like a rich owner trying to get a steal knowing if he does not sign the kid he gets a replacement pick. All he did was cause Rocker to lose a year of earning. All we are hearing is the Mets trying to cover their butts. Rocker's camp is saying nothing is wrong. Just because they do not have an army of journalists representing them does not mean they are wrong. I feel sorry for the kid. Forget that it's Vandy for a minute. What if this was Cheese? Or your kid?
Oh and bypassing the MRI. Most of your projected 1st few round guys don't have it done. Why would you? Hey look there is a slight strain drop me down in the draft and give me less money. SMH

You can trust your kid and your kids arm with Coach V and Coach A. Plus you have Q and Woody to do arm care, among others! If everything is accurate at the Vandy stats page below, then here are his outings with the highest pitch counts:
Kumar Rocker
6/11: 117
3/19: 116
6/25: 111
5/7: 110
4/23: 109
3/13: 103
5/20: 101
4/8, 6/19: 100
For comparison, Cheese's highest PCs were 105, 102, and 101:
