Question. How in the crap did we lose to Bama this year?

And 2006 would be more relevant than that.

Bottom Line: in the past decade Tennessee has been expected to beat Alabama in every matchup, but has dropped a few.

THAT'S what irritates me the most about the whole thing. the fact that we SHOULD have won.

I am not arguing with you about that at all.
Tennessee, however, will beat Alabama in 2008 and barring any incredible events next year we will continue to beat them well into the future.

P.S. Saban won't be there for more than two more years.

or, looking for a trend, you might take the last 3 or 4, maybe even 5 or 6. Beyond that, we're bordering on irrelevance.

O.K., we'll just PRETEND that we've beaten them more than they have us...great solution. if you wan't to accept the fact that they are historically the better program, knock yourself out.

There's really no defending the losses to 6-7 Cal and 7-6 Alabama. IMO Alabama will be much improved from here on out. The fact Saban owned Fulmer during a down year doesn't bode well for the future IMO.

you don't think we gave up against UF and AL? I thought we completely quit in each 4th Quarter.

You just said what my original point was... we are a completely different team since then:

Correction... we weren't very good. I think we are a totally different team now than when we played Bammer. Much better defensively for sure.

We havent quit against anyone since then and have won against everyone since then that is not in the NC game. Plus... we are indeed better defensively.

We aren't.

but giving up is a sign of a poorly coached team, regardless of when and why.

I would like to look at some bright spots from this loss. I am actually feeling grateful to Bama. This loss somehow woke us up and we ended up with SECEC, and they almost ended up with a losing season.

We aren't.

I'm sure you're infinite wisdom would help in making a better argument than "We aren't"

We've given up less points since Bammer... Im going to go out on a limb and say less yardage by a bigger margin that points also. The defensive line has marginal improvement and the secondary was dinged up for the better part of the year and I thought played pretty well for starting 2 true freshmen for x-amount of games. Linebacker play is almost directly related to how well the D-Line plays and I think everyone on here thinks the LB's were playing horrible at the beginning of the year... but are playing much better now... good enough for Mayo to garner All-SEC. All said... the defense is playing better NOW than it was against Alabama and before.

Have we given up in a game since then? We've shown more heart in the games since Bammer than we have in a long time... the team has really come together.

Be honest guys... are ya'll just bummed out cause we didnt go undefeated?
