After watching them play some last night and barely winning, how did they beat us, and BAD?:banghead2:

This is easy:

The 7thgameoftheyear mentality, absolutely no emotion, came out and finished flat, no rhythm offensively, couldnt cover DJ Hall, no pressure on JPW, Special Teams, man... you name it. I still hold by my earlier comments that Bammer is a garbage team in 2007, we just had not found our niche yet and we got smoked like a bowl at Coker's house.

I think our defense was under the impression that DJ Hall had leprosy.

I'm not sure if Hall actually has it or not...however, I'm certain that no UT defender could have been infected, because they never actually made contact with him during the game.

I have yet to recover from that loss. I could barely watch the bama game last night, flipped back and forth from colts vs: titans.

I am hoping a big win 1/1 will be the tonic that knocks out by bama day headache hangover!

GO VOLS! PS...agree with first 3 posts on what happened.

Even that doesn't explain his freakish day against us. Col isn't very good either.

I agree. Sure, Tennessee isn't very good...but, the Vols still had no business getting thumped by a below average Alabama team.

The Vols seemed unprepared, disinterested, and unfocused. The gameplan was bad, and the effort was pathetic. Those are factors that can be controlled...inexcusable.

Correction... we weren't very good. I think we are a totally different team now than when we played Bammer. Much better defensively for sure.

We aren't a totally different team. We may have improved some, but we aren't outstanding.

I think we are... the way the defense has steped up must be of mention for sure. Our offense is about the same & our Special teams has done better than I thought they would even though Colquit hasnt had his best year. This team went from having absolutely no heart against Florida and no emotion against Bammer to within a pick-6 from being SEC champs. That's totally different in my book.

Since Bammer..... Kentucky & Arkansas and I thought we played our hearts out against LSU... I was very proud of our team even though we lost.
our d was decent against a very one dimensional arky squad, but all of the other offenses played well against us for at least one half.

SC's second half was horrifying.
UK got to overtime and had about 2,000 yds.
Vandy trounced us for 3 quarters
LSU's injured backup treated us very poorly in the second half.

That's true...also within a few inches of a 2nd straight home loss to Vandy.

Also only a yard away from a loss to Kentucky.

I credit the Vols for staying tough and winning enough games to get to Atlanta...I just don't think they're all that good. Hopefully they'll be damn good tomorrow though.

Agreed. UT hasn't improved at all. We've just faced worse competition, and we've been damn lucky to squeak out victories against that inferior competition.

I dont discredit anything you guys are saying but they WON FOOTBALL GAMES and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

USC was close, but a win. 2nd half was ugly though.

UK was close but a win and had some receivers not dropped some key 3rd downs, we would have extended drives and put that game away a lot earlier

Vandy... close but a win. It's just like that sometimes and that's what Im talking about when I say the found a little heart.

LSU.... that injured back-up played his ass off. HOw many times did we absolutely kill him and he just popped right back up and went about his game?

Don't try and downplay what we did against Arky either.... you can call them one-dimensional or whatever, but we shut them down.... period. LSU has a team loaded with All-Americans couldn't do it a couple of weeks after.
