It's not the worst decision. He probably won't get drafted and I'm sure he doesn't want to transfer.

The positives for him is that he is athletic and could possibly turn into a decent player but his sample size is far too small. He's also taken less wear and tear.

It just gets at me because I would love to play 4 years at UT. And don't want to see these kids get bad advice and leave early and not make a team. When I was 18 1st rounders left early and that was it.

I’m guessing that a lot of players have been told that their scholarships will not be renewed if someone perceived as more talented can be brought in to take their places.

It’s one of those painful realities of college sports, especially if it’s possible that the players are being replaced due to the failure of the previous staff to “coach them up.”

He could have been a graduate transfer and not set out a year and maybe better him self. That would have been a wiser choice. And I don't think the kid is dumb. Made a dumb choice yes.

I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not hurt about anything. It may shock you, but it is okay to offer an opinion concerning a player's NFL potential. It's obvious that CJP and his defensive staff DO NOT believe Sapp can contribute to next year's defense. And they're the EXPERTS who have recruited and coached plenty of NFL LBs over the last several years.

He leaves as a grad transfer, and there are actual chumps who would call him a “quitter”. Best decision is one you make for yourself. No one else has more at stake.

I understand what you're saying, but he's been in the program for 4 years and got his degree. I don't see the downside to him deciding not to return to a rebuild that he's got no future in. It's not like he's likely to come back and play his way into the first 3 rounds.

I know we all want to believe it's no big deal, but none of us knows what happened. It was never really explained. Unless you have direct personal knowledge of the situation, repeating to yourself that Pruitt was telling the truth and Sapp was lying is just meaningless. I didn't see anyone at the time questioning whether or not the tweet came from Quart'e. It would have been very easy for him to deny and he didn't. Pruitt did not suggest that it came from anyone other than Sapp. It was reported nationally by many sources. I think Fox News had it on their main news web page along with Sapp's picture.

I just think it was a really weird story and not one you want to see with a first year head coach. There were several other things that happened during the season that were questionable, but I think this was the most troubling. Just my opinion.

He will certainly make it in the XFL or the new pro football Alluance league. Lot's of spots for 3* athletes in these newbie leagues.

He honestly has a better shot at making a team this year than ever before. It’s not just the nfl that’s gonna be looking for talented players. The new alliance of American football league will get some of the players that aren’t drafted.

He'll get signed and eventually get his shot as an undrafted player. (Maybe he can channel his inner Phillip Lindsey).

Another year with CJP whether he started or not would have helped him immensely.

Re-read my post. I never said or implied QS lied. And yes I am 100% certain CJP's version is the truth. Take it for what it is worth.

Hmm, best of luck!!! I am afraid he will need it... Maybe he is testing the waters? I can see him playing one more year with another college team..

He was billed as the next JRM after his freshman year but injuries kept him sidelined. He was healthy coming into this season but just wasn’t a good fit with Pruitts scheme IMO...wish him well

I remember this guy hated me for years because I made a comment about rednecks in TN.
I would even buy that guy a drink if he was ever in white house area again.
I just can’t seem to recall his name for some reason....

Shoulda stayed and worked like heck... and raise your draft level by 4-5 rounds. Quitting isn't the right thing to do.
