Quality Class & OC Situation

OCs are not overrated....

On a serious note, id love to get the opinions from those that agreed with Pruitt using lack of talent as an excuse for poor performance last season. This class is currently ranking close to or worst than 3 of the last four. 2018 being the exception. It also ranks in the bottom tier of the sec. So how them to we come to the conclusion that things will improve?

The numbers don't lie, and this being one of the lower tier classes that we have had in the last 4 years is problematic especially with the rest of the SEC doing so well. That being said, my only hope is that CJP is better and more committed to player development and that those developments (should they occur) compensate for the less than stellar talent level. This recruiting cycle is decent considering our last two seasons, but the record at the end of 2019 really dictates the next recruiting cycle, and that is where we will learn if we are truly on our way back to prominence or if we are in for yet another coaching change and more "rebuilding" .

Saban had more equity sure, but it's not like Pruitt crawled out of a gutter and learned to coach football last August. Guy has had great success and won rings as a DC at multiple schools. Not easy to do. What other coaches have 2 rings as coordinators from different schools? Any?

Either way we were originally talking about this years class vs our opponents' classes, and UT falling behind. If we are going strictly on current class ranking equaling wins over lesser ranked opponents, Pruitt goes 8-3 next year with a win over the Gators. I'll take it

I see your argument, but at the same time the counter to that could be that most coordinators in those systems would have been successful. Looking at the positions that he inherited and the talent that he had, most DC's would have done pretty well if they were decent going in. Not saying that CJP is not a good coach, I think that he is, but there is still something for him to prove here that he hasn't dealt with on this level with a team that is this far down the totem pole.

Umm... we’re not. We have our guy in Pruitt.
