'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

Agree on Hurry. Going to have some competition for byu wr.
Well if these big money donors are willing to pony up them we shouldn’t worry about being outbid.

It’s funny how we all of the sudden have the supposed money and backing when it’s the 11th hour but we didn’t have it back during the recruiting and early portal stages for players like keys?

Seems like these pissed off donors could’ve solved a lot of this if they’d committed earlier to the cause.

I’m poor so I don’t know how all this works but it seems pretty easy to be mad and say your willling to pay after the moment has passed.

This is not directed to you btw in any form.

I'll hope for the best. I'll always hope for the best where Tennessee is involved. But this has been a complete **** show, and some of that is on the staff.

We'll see what the season brings. Definitely a lot of areas we need to get better as a program if we ever hope to truly compete with the top programs.

It’s all good. It’s apparent that coach CJH felt the relationship with Nico was in good place in winter portal, I also think they had their hands full with current players negotiating. I know people stepped up for this qb search, but couldn’t convince anyone to jump.

Boosters will be pissed if we take the UCLA kid. It’s the optics. That we got UCLA leftovers. If we go that route, and it doesn’t go well. Heupel will have burnt some important bridges with money guys. I hope it works out.
Yeah, boosters want to win. Handing over millions they expect them to take the approach of Vitello, Barnes, Caldwell, Weekly. Not getting a solid lineman from ND and a bunch of relatively unknown lesser talent that hasnt proven to do anything yet. They want to get after it. Can’t blame them.

Hopefully we’re now completely out of the toxic father/toxic family business.
Unfortunately, no...there's at least one player still on the team with some reps that have pulled some dumb stuff, but all the bad PR Nico got should help keep them in check a bit.

That will quickly be forgotten if he throws up at 6-6, 7-5.

I think 8-4 with a top 10 recruiting class buys him some time. Needs to be more active in the portal. That’s non-negotiable going forward.

Non-negotiable by who?

You?

Does Danny White know?

Wonder if our offense speeds back up this season?

Usually speed comes with comfortability in the system, so I wouldn’t necessarily count on that happening with only having a summer to learn the system (he still might not even be the starter, that’s still TBD)

Joey is a bigger body than Nico was so will be interesting to see if they have more designed keepers. Feel like that’s been missing in this offense since the HH year and really helped open things up down field

I keep hearing this, but why didn’t coaches assess the situation better in January? Nico had a foot out door then. Would have been much easier to talk a guy into leaving before spring.
Have you never heard the phrase hindsight is 20/20?

I’m not opposed to criticizing coaches, but I don’t think Heupel deserves the criticism you’re insinuating here.

So, you’re suggesting that Heupel should have signed a portal transfer in January? Then, the Negavols would have blamed Heupel for forcing Nico (who was nothing but loyal as far as they knew at the time) out the door. Yeah. That sounds like it would have been a great strategy.

My buddy is an App St grad/season ticket holder. He said Joey is horrible. He was glad to see him leave. Oh well. Hope Heup can "fix" him.
My buddy is a linebacker on the team. Said “he’s really good and a gamer. Team loves him. Our offensive line this past year wasn’t as good as 2023 and that hurt him”

I’m not close enough to know the dynamics in the winter. Shoot, I was in Canada for last 8 months, but the best coaches know this stuff I believe. Maybe I’m wrong.

Also follow app state, the supporting cast was good ( robinson horn and jackson). Granted the coach and the play calling sucked, aguilar also wasnt good. Not saying he cant be, app state also had alot more non football stuff going on (hurricane) for the better part of the season
That’s BS. App State has sucked for last two years.

okay so since we went to the bargain bin again,

When are all the portal cruits coming in since we have all this money to spend to help surround this mid QB with some experience? I'll hang up and listen...

cause if we don't, then some folks gotta start taking off he orange sunglasses.... Don't forget to pay your talent fee this fall!

No need for you to remove your orange sunglasses because all you ever do is troll here.
