Definitely both sides to the equation for sure. Have to be able to draw a fine lineI don’t disagree with your logic. The type of people that have the drive to be large boosters though, have huge egos, and long memories. Ask auburn though what happens when you lose your boosters backing as a coach. Or Kentucky when you don’t have any. I hope it works out, and I will be rooting for the kid.
Nah man, haven't you heard? The season has already been decided! I see he's made throws that Nico never did. I think he has big play ability if receivers are still being schemed wide ass open like always. He’s actually a really good guy off the field. Has good poise on the field and doesn’t seem to get rattled.
It’s all but done but they’re still playing cat and mouse with NIL. Everyone knows Vols were offering Nico level money to some of the sitting QB targets so now it gives Joey leverage. They’re at around $1 mill for him at the moment.
And as an App grad and follower I can tell you he is not terrible as some have stated. He had a lame duck coach and no supporting cast last season.
Yeah, get the riff raff OFF OUR LAWNSGlad it's over. This guy has at least proven he can consistently hit deep throws. He'll be super motivated to prove something as will Merk and G-Mac. We're going from a guy mostly motivated by money to guys who are motivated to win and prove everyone wrong. I'm good with that.
Hopefully now we'll see all the FF posters leave...they're bringing down the RF's property values.
Tennessee roster > App State/UCLA rosterAlso for people that need to hear this…
Joey put up those stats while playing at App stat. The SEC is not in the same stratosphere as that competition. It’s wishful thinking that he’s going to come in here and learn the offense and produce at a high level.
I could be wrong, but I’m not going to sunshine pump a move that not a single person on this board would have done in December or even 2 weeks ago.
As soon as boosters are disgruntled, you’re a dead man walking.
I hope Heupel has a successful season, but this feels like a turning point for him here.
Diego Pavia translated pretty well. Also for people that need to hear this…

Genuinely curious, what other option did Heupel have? Going after the entire Big 12’s starting QB approach did not work. None of those guys wanted to “Nico” their own team in the spring. Now if CJH can pull off a 10 win season with all of this, he will be bulletproof for another 5 years. It’s a high risk high reward game though right now.
If the fanbase turns on him after going 7-5 when his starting QB left him in April…That will quickly be forgotten if he throws up at 6-6, 7-5.
I think 8-4 with a top 10 recruiting class buys him some time. Needs to be more active in the portal. That’s non-negotiable going forward.
