It does matter though. We knew Nico shopping, we were continuing to negotiate until he ghosted. Say I'm done and move on....or.... Continue to negotiate. The difference is in how you go about it.I get the point, but mine is that the focus on the ghosting doesn't really matter if the end result is the same-- transferring out of the program that developed you.
I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. We will, rightfully, be called hypocrites for poaching another high profile player by the entire national media should it happen. No amount of mental gymnastics on our side will change that.It does matter though. We knew Nico shopping, we were continuing to negotiate until he ghosted. Say I'm done and move on....or.... Winning cures all ailments. Poach the right guy and we will be pouring moonshine this fall while others will be sipping the red wine.I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. Who cares? The staff is paid to win and they are also competitive. I doubt they want to give up on the season or diminish chances of winning to save face.I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. Our issue isn't that Nico shopped for a better opportunity. It's that he sat out, ghosted everyone. That's the issue and that got him dismissed. If he'd have walked we wouldn't have liked it and we would have villainized Nico.I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. We will, rightfully, be called hypocrites for poaching another high profile player by the entire national media should it happen. No amount of mental gymnastics on our side will change that.

As heartless as that sounds, that is the reality of unlimited free agency. Come fall all that matters is W/L. If you care enough about being called hypocrites by other fans, then you should probably care when other teams snipe talent. Its happening all the time, everywhere, every week in CFB. Even though there are only a few portal windows, the conversations are constant.
Nico's camp got ratted on by Lanning. Do you think Lanning made a call to every coach every time a backchannel conversation happened on another player?
Again, we were put into this by Nico's team. Now we have to adapt to survive.
and then those teams will go do the same thing to someone else.....the system is the system.I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. Rick Neuheisel said the first call he would make is Avery Johnson. He said that you at least have to do it bc you are paid to win gamesI don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. This is a fair point and it's had the same effect on me. Until this Nico thing, I wasn't even keeping up with recruiting or portal or any of that.GoVols247 said this is just an unfounded rumor.
as for everything else, I'm just tired of the mercenary ******** honestly. I follow this less and less, and my posting rates probably reflect that. I was happy we handled this the way we did, but to just do the same thing in reverse immediately after ruins it.
It is what it is. Trying to win. Feels dirty to me as well, but that's the game.I don't think KSU, Baylor, or the rest of the country will see it that way. It’s just gonna be harder to pull him away. Just won the big 12 championship and should’ve beat Texas in the cfp. Their oc was the the only offensive coach up for coordinator of the year. They’re also returning a lot of players besides the rb cam skataboo. If I was Sam I’d stay put.Sam Leavitt is better than Avery IMO
