'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

Fair enough. That seems like an emotional reason to choose him. Simply a feel-good narrative, which is your right, so I won't knock it, but it's not too many degrees separated from moral victories, either.

I'm just saying I'll be cheering for team success...wins over losses, and not for having the toughest kid on the field. For that, you have to optimize your talent options at the most important positions.
100% an emotional response.

I reached a point earlier this year where I became angry that the old college football is dead. It's gone and it'll never return. I used to know the life story of every kid on the roster. Fast forward to today and I can't even name all the starters. I can't keep up with who's on the team or off, let alone get familar with the kids well enough to care whether or not they succeed. Don't get me wrong, I want the team to win but I don't have an emotional connection to the players like I used to. Winning would be nice but what I really miss is having a team that I truly enjoy cheering for. There's only a few players that I genuinely care about. Recently, I've found myself just hoping Heupel does well.

Wait, these are two different situations. Nico's camp negotiated in bad faith and tried to extort the university for months. However, if Nico was up and sniped by another school for more money and UT knew about it and couldn't pony up the cash to stop it, then I would be less upset because this is the nature of the game now. It would still stink but lets not act like this is something we wanted. His camp put us into a position that we have to fight hard (read: pay a lot for) to get out of now.

You have to realize there is A LOT of money wrapped up in our success. The coaches and university would not be doing their diligence if they didn't explore these options and try to maximize our success this year (and every year).

That means we may get a heartless mercenary that we have to embrace because a 6 win season this year basically means Heupel and co are finished. We will have an exodus and recruiting will tank.

ADAPT OR DIE
that would be horrific optics

I went back several pages in this thread and the transfer portal thread and did not see it, so SIAP. The name looks a little sketch, though, so I’m not sure if this info is to be trusted or not.

To add fuel to the fire, it looks like it is definitely true that Heupel and some of the other UT coaches started following Avery on X. Again, please take it easy on me if this is old news. I haven’t been following these threads.

😆 You've been duped.

Read his name out loud. And pronounce the Gs as you would in Gopher and not George.

Total troll post, extremely unlikely Avery Johnson leaves. He's a Kansas native. Whole thing has been a stretch. If I'm wrong i will admit it.

One game? Cool. So that proves everything? Ignore the games he did bad in just the one good game? 😂😂😂😂😂
Yep. Just one game made me fan and also give me undeniable proof that he would not have ran out of bounds against Arkansas. Absolute 100% fact. Argue with your mother.

They could’ve followed him when they offered back in 2021

Fair. But he played in a much weaker league. I’m just not sold. But, like I said, I’d be excited to have him. Beggars can’t be choosers right now. We just have to have a body.
But yet he played up to that league and had a good year while Nico was the 2nd coming supposedly and he sucked against the SEC and was only good against low level comp and Vandy which could also be considered usually low level! Also he did it with an even worse OL than we had which is hilariously bad.

Did you read what I posted? I said the name looked sketch, so yes I did read it aloud. So no, I was not duped.
Ahh, didn't see what you had typed above the tweet. My bad. I was just messing with you, anyhow. Thought the emoji would convey that.

He almost took iowa state to the playoffs, imagine what he does here with a more qb friendly system and better weapons
More assumptions. What if he can’t learn Heupels system fast enough? What if the other players don’t respect him?
