the football complex.
he will be fine, don't go ballistic. he is just a young pup..
trust me, not expecting Matt to be all conference player but we have many that will have to play that will not be all conference.. its just that he is ahead right now of others at his position including Tyler
I'm not upset or anything, I am just curious what exactly you have heard or seen reported to suggest Bray has not been putting in the time. How can you say he is ahead of Bray at the position? What have you seen to justify that statement?
I don't mean to take it out on you, but I keep hearing all these things about Bray and nobody can back any of them up. He smokes weed, he's lazy, he hasn't been putting in the time, etc. Everything I have read about Bray from the coaches and players are the exact opposite. Again, I just want to know where all this information is coming from.
What I see is a better decision maker with a stronger arm and surprisingly good leadership skills at a young age. This same kid also outplayed Simms consistently in two Spring Scrimmages and the OW game.
Simms on the other hand comes with a past, and nothing but poor to mediocre on-the-field performances. This isn't just me busting his chops. Look at the stats and see for yourself. Nobody can look at his performance and call it anything different. Look at Louisville, El Camino, and three scrimmages at UT. I think these are better indicators of his performance than "he stayed for the extra practice", "he's winning the locker room", or "he's had a great spiral at the Manning camp."
Now to be fair, Dooley praised Simms and said he has worked harder than anyone on the team. Good for him, and maybe he has turned the corner. If the coaching staff evaluates both players and says Simms is the guy, I will put my trust in them. After all who knows more about them? With that said, I have only seen evidence ON THE FIELD of interceptions, a lack in accuracy, and poor decision making. Until I see something different, I am going to be very nervous with him as our quarterback.
IMO Bray is the better quarterback, BASED ON EVIDENCE. I think he puts us in the better position to win, and I like the idea of getting experience under his belt so that he will be that much better for three more years. I hope I am wrong about Simms, and I respect the other opinions on this board. I just hope we can be fair to both of these young men in our evaluations by sticking to the facts instead of rumors.
