Psn

I'm sure that won't affect most users. Most everybody has changed their password by now.

Does not matter if you changed your password

Another blog, Eurogamer, says it confirmed the exploit, which allows someone to reset your password by knowing your e-mail address used for the account and date of birth. That information is known to be among the data belonging to 100 million users of Sony's gaming services that was exposed between April 17 and 19 in the second-largest security breach in U.S. history.

Only if you changed your e-mail would you have been safe from the exploit.

Just a heads up.

Wouldn't they need my email password as well & my new psn password?

From the way I read it, and I could be wrong, just knowing that info could have allowed them to reset the password from the website.

"A new hack is currently doing the rounds in dark corners of the internet that allows the attacker the ability to change your password using only your account's email and date of birth."

They apparently disabled that feature upon being alerted by a UK gaming site, so if you didn't receive an email saying your password was changed, you should be ok.

PSN wasnt taken down..just the "sign-in for PlayStation Network on the Web was out of service this morning." according to the article.

Also states that " Eurogamer says users that changed the e-mail address connected to the PSN account after PSN was restored this weekend should not be at risk."

Reading is fundamental.

I wonder if were gonna have to end up paying for security, or psn in general

They might do it in a way without you knowing it, like having you pay for it like microsoft. (Gold and Silver subscriptions)

That way they can have you pay for it without you thinking you're paying for it.
