"Meanwhile, a number of interesting theories have popped up online. From PS3 Inside comes speculation that Sony is creating a new Master Key for all PSN content. Once PSN comes back up, users will need to re-download all previously downloaded content so that they now have a key-imprinted copy.

Over on Reddit, a poster who claims to be a PSX-Scene.com moderator says PSN was actually taken down in response to a new piece of custom firmware (CFW) called “Codename: Rebug.” Rebug could allegedly be used to get hacked PlayStation 3 systems back onto PSN, and ultimately gave users the ability to pirate loads of PSN content. These two bits of information seem to line up rather nicely, though there is no actual confirmation of either."



It's really gonna suck if we actually have to re-download the games. It takes 30 minutes just to download the content of one game...

Their must have been alot of systems hacked for them to take this long just to get them back up, or either they had in their mind if this happened again they were just going to rebuild.

I will be pretty upset if they get hacked again. If it does happen again I won't be suprised to be paying each year for it, but like one guy from IGN said "I paid for the included price of PSN when I bought my PS3", but I guess I won't mind paying.

I don't think you would have to re-download everything you already have but maybe it would start with what you download from this point on. Can you even re-download stuff you already have or does it have to be deleted first? I can see a lot of issues if somebody has to delete stuff manually & re-download it.

Not sure. That would really make some people mad if you deleted and had to lose your progress on a certain game.

Um, yeah please enlighten me as to why you think the 360 has a better library? The PS3 has a much more robust lineup of exclusives. Seriously, only the most diehard 360 fan can't see that.

Yea exactly. Although the game save should be different I could see people getting it mixed up.

the only games i would seriously consider buying on the ps3 would be little big planet, possibly god of war, possibly drake, and the show....and even then i'm not sure i would buy all of those. gears, bioshock(now ported), mass effect(now ported), left 4 dead, and halo own almost everything on the ps3 IMO give or take a few games.

i'm not a 360 "diehard" by any means, but i'm not alone in the assertion that the 360's library is better. a bunch of people think that their game lineup is lackluster and is a big reason why sony doesn't sell more systems.

I never saw what all the hype was about with halo. It looks like it is pretty much washed up & other fps games have taken over that aren't necessarily exclusive to a certain system. Such as the cod's, socom, etc. Not sure about the others I mainly play sports games & an occasional fps.

Halo is a good series because of Bungie, one of the best developers out there. I'd say FPS-wise it's right up there with COD when it comes to popularity too.

The campaigns are extremely solid and they've all had co-op. The multiplayer is balanced extremely well, it has quite a bit of variety, good visuals, ridiculous stat tracking, and features like Theatre Mode, Forge, Custom Games put it over the edge. I still play Reach along with BC2 and TF2.

I cant find a thread for socom on my phone. Has anyone played it yet? Is atleast the storyline worth playing?
