If this is indeed true, makes the decision much easier for me
Xbox 720 could block used software, says Eidos president - GameSpot.com?

Bad move by xbox, if so. We will have to wait and see.
I never buy used games for all those reasons bleedorange and I also like being the only owner, but i do like sharing games with friends which means playing on several consoles.
but anything to screw gamestop i'm for...
Sounds far fetched to me.If this is indeed true, makes the decision much easier for me

GameStop created a fantastic business model that has made them a lot of money over the years and I applaud them for capitalizing on the system. However, it has also taken a lot of money out of the pockets of the studios who actually make the games, and I applaud Microsoft for taking measures to protect those people too. Some developers, such as EA Sports with their Online Pass Code, had already started taking some measures to penalize consumers who bought the game secondhand, and I imagine that is going to become more and more prevalent, so even if Sony chooses not to flat out block used games, I think we'll see more and more measures to curb gamers from buying secondhand.
I get the used game thing, but what about people that have two xboxs. I have a new one on the big screen and the old one is still kicking around in the bedroom. Basically I'll have to pick a console to play on? That's somewhat annoying.
Not necessarily. At first glance, it seems like gamers will get the short end of the stick. However, I'm sure the devs are loving this because it will put an end to GameStop stealing their profits by selling used copies of their games for $5 less than retail and pocketing all the money on a game they had nothing to do with creating.
I dont know if I could believe that MS would go that route when it is known Sony isnt. Wont really know until MS actually comes out with their announcement. But, if it does remain this way, there will not be a console battle, PS4 will absolutely crush them in sales IMO.
I wish I could get into gaming on a pc, but for some reason it just isn't the same as a console.
Where are you getting this 5 bucks figure? I have bought plenty if used games at a fraction of retail. And yes, it will be significant if there isn't an ability to play used games on the new Xbox while you will be able to on the ps4.Do you really think that a significant number of people will be so put off by not being able to save $5 on games by buying them secondhand that they will choose PS4 over Xbox?
