PS4 VS Xbox720

They showed off some cool ideas. Interested to see how it all comes together. They seem to tone this event way down and just presented what they are working on. The PS3 announcement event was a joke. And MS was not much better back then either.

Looking forward to seeing what MS is up to when they decide to show their hand.

Enjoyed seeing everything but the show was awfully boring.

Moving to a x86 architecture is a HUGE move for Sony. They should have done it on the PS3. I bet spec-wise both consoles will be pretty darn similar.

Yeah I think both will be very similar under the hood. Curious to see in MS goes with Nividia again or the same rumored AMD

It'll all be cloud content soon enough; for better or worse...

Replacement controllers will probably be 60 bucks a pop

You can't blame MS for not including Blu-Ray.

Blu-Ray was Sony tech and it would have greatly added to the cost of the system.

Along with apple, samsung, mitsubushi, disney, etc.. everyone but MS. Its not just a sony tech, MS just couldnt stand being on the same board of directors as sony i guess, so they went HD which died out quick. Someone can correct me if im wrong.

Licensing fees are still paid to Sony, and how would it have looked if part of the cost of every 360 sold had been for the inclusion of a Blu-Ray drive?

HD-DVD was actually superior in terms of capacity, but like BetaMax vs. VHS, Toshiba and Microsoft failed to market it properly and it's viability as an alternative to BD withered and died.

Really? Upon a quick Googling, I'm showing a dual-layer HD DVD at 30 GB and a dual-layer BD at 50 GB...

I wasn't paying attention, dual side/dual layer HD DVD's are 60gb, which would still put them behind dual side BD's
