Maybe the post you quoted wasn’t sarcasm. I appreciated the quote from CBJ as what he said was on point.

*Or maybe your post was all directed toward reporters. Hard to tell, but I think most agree with your premise.
CBJ?!?...Can’t be, I didn’t hear one comment about a CEO quarterback

Never said I was upset about it. But I do appreciate your enthusiasm.

I am SO VERY SORRY!!!! My 54 year old eyes saw a "I didn't appreciate" instead of what you actually wrote "I did..."

Once again....I was wrong, again!

Please forgive me. ........a Rosanne-Rosanna-danna moment from me.......OH--NEVERMIND

Freak thanks for the post and all the hard work you put in so that we have this website to talk about and argue about our VOLS! If I ever run into you I will pay for the drinks.

Emmit getting another year?
According to Pruitt:

Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt says Gooden injured his knee Tuesday and will undergo surgery next week.

“It’s unfortunate for him and for our football team, but he’s a guy that’s got another year,” Pruitt said. “He’ll continue with going to school and get ready to come back next spring and next fall.”

The 25 annual recruiting class max needs to be addressed. It does kind of need to be managed (see Ole Miss), but it effectively keeps teams that are down, down, much longer. They almost need to an exception if you drop below a certain number of overall scholarships. Maybe you can sign 30 for 2 years if you drop below 70 scholarships.

We basically have a self assessed probation with only 67 scholarship players. I didn't know we were that low.
Yeah. When I heard how low we were, no wonder we are dragging. Going to be a long road back with those numbers.

Only CFA doesn't get a lot of playing time. Perhaps Johnson because he's out but he got minutes when healthy. Would love this group especially Callaway, Byrd, and Jennings to lead this team to a historic win in Tuscaloosa.

According to Pruitt:

I’m very encouraged by our LOS play this year. Defensively, adding EG will be a big boost for next season and who knows what a year of training can do for a guy like Elijah Simmons. This is great news

What do you think was the intent of the rule when Saban wrote it? That is indeed its primary purpose so that weak programs cant come in with a great coach and totally flip a roster. That way no threat to the powers that be, aka Saban, Dabo, GA, etc.

As a PCP I can tell you we have a standard concussion protocol and numerous test to perform on the sideline (like the ImPACT quick test) to determine if a player needs to be removed from the game and sent to a higher level of care. Of course, there has to be a reason to perform these tests and if Maurer was showing no signs of cognitive changes no one would have done one.

I think when he threw that second pick Pruitt said " Kid has to have a concussion"

If we can stop the YAC on the short throws we have a chance to keep it close. The Bama O lives on the short pass and run after catch

"There really arent many weaknesses on the Alabama offense" :( I know its true but I hate to hear him saying it. Would be nice to hear something like "and that's where we are working to get to" or something of the sort.

Meanwhile, we only have 67 scholly guys? Dang, no wonder we are thin. We are missing almost a quarter of the team. That means we could "load up" with the full 25 allowable this year and if we lose 14 srs, we are still 7 short of full strength (85). That doesnt count any others we are redshirting or lose to general attrition or injury. Seems like it is going to be 2021 before we even get a full roster of scholly players.

I heard this part of his press conference yesterday on Finebaum, after his Alabama infomercial, and it sounds like he’s more concerned with Alabama than Tennessee. Even if he thought this, don’t think any Tennessee Coach should have said it.

Coach Saban has been kind. He was kind to us last year, and he had been kind to a lot of teams last year. Almost to the point of, does it hurt their football team down the road because they don’t have an opportunity to play four quarters? Because there will be a point in time that they have to play four quarters.

On pulling BM: I'll give Coach Pruitt the benefit of the doubt on whether or not he should have pulled BM immediately. Here at home, we had the advantage of seeing him go down in perfect detail..slow motion, and I said Pull him NOW when I saw it. Standing on the sideline, Coach likely didn't have the same perspective and he went with his best guess. I hope Brian is in good enough shape Saturday to play against Alabama. At this time, he represents our best potential future quarterback option. Keeping him out of this game this year only makes the "Bama issue" a bigger thing in his mind. IF he's medically OK to play...he needs to be in there to see what he can do with our offense against Bama's defense...early enough in the game so that he'll be playing against their best...not their cheerleaders, water-girls, and whomever else Coach Saban puts in once the score gets out of reach.
On the "rivalry": Heck folks...this game stopped being a "rivalry" a long time ago. For Christ's sake...I'm not even sure the Vanderbilt series is a "Rivalry" anymore given the way they have OWNED us for several years now.
