Pruitts attitude is completely unacceptable

Here's the steps we are taking immediately to produce better results on the field.

Or, admit that he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and he only took the job because Tennessee shoved millions in his face and basically begged him to be our HC to end the most embarrassing coaching search of all time.
He needs to reflect first. I’d rather hear his plan on Monday.

I have always said this. This guy grew up probably hating Tennessee. Hating the fans. Hating hearing Rocky Top. After all he was an Alabama guy. And all of a sudden just because he's getting a paycheck from Tennessee he's supposed to forget all of that. Emotions are not like a light switch. I don't think he cares. Who knows Alabama may be paying him on the side to sabotage the program with the promise of them hiring him later.
Surely Alabama would pick a stronger program to sabotage like, um I don't know, someone that was actually a threat to become dominant in the conference. Also, if you truly believe this, you should have thought about it before you picked your screen name.

Funny. Makes sense now. Our Bama guy beat Auburn last year. The only game in his 13 where we looked like a real team (other than KY).

Sometimes getting humbled like CJP, his staff, and the players did yesterday will make one question if they have what it takes to do what they’re here for, maybe not, but the condition this program is in was not an ant hill to step over to achieve success, it’s Mt Everest! As a fan base we’re mortally sick of loosing, and whether CJP can lead this program or not is in question but right now he’s leading the program and needs all the support he can get. We have to choose if we have what it takes to stick it out? Stay on board the ship? Acts 27.

If you watched the game yesterday, one thing was obvious. Georgia State's coach and team were fired up the whole game. Tennessee's coaches and team were walking around like they were looking for the snack table. Last year Pruitt took a lot of heat for being to fiery on the sidelines, yesterday there was a lot of wet firewood on the sideline. I would rather rather see a coach with a little fire because a team feeds off of the coach.

I believe this is because Pruitt has known for months how much his team sucked and none of this was surprising to him. He is resigned to the fact that his team sucks and will continue to suck.

JG did enough to win with the hello of those around him. The defense is the real problem. Don't get me wrong JG needs to be better but the defense was about as bad as it could be. We have nothing resembling a serviceable d line and the secondary was just lost. The defense is why we lost that game.
Here we go again. JG’s performance was unacceptable. He plays scared or lacks vision or both. He hung our D out to dry. I watched every second of that crapfest. It all starts and ends with our QB period. You want me to acknowledge our D should be better? Duh. Everybody needs to be better. But if we don’t replace JG this season is already lost imo.

We have a big issue on D-line and decision making at QB. Just bc JG has limited interceptions doesn’t make him a good decision maker. Not sure how that gets fixed this year. It’s unfortunate bc I can see some real electric playmakers out there. Most are just the young inexperienced guys that Pruitt recruited. Our personnel on D has been lackluster for years.

Not making excuse for CJP because you can’t lose this game period. But some of our deficiencies in regards to players were pretty evident today.

How can you be player deficient against GA state, do you need to have bama talent to beat them?

Pruitt should take all the blame in the media but when the doors are closed this team needs leaders to step up and hold themselves and fellow players accountable. If a player doesn’t care about winning and losing its up to the team to weed them out. Today the defensive coaching seemed unorganized. I only watched the game on tv and didn’t see the sidelines but maybe there’s too many people trying to run the defense. Pruitt needs to let Ansley do his job and just be the head coach. Not saying Pruitt should totally step away from the defensive but give his advice directly to Ansley and the other assistants. The players just seemed unorganized most of the time. Like any job out there there was too many people trying to be directly in charge.

You can’t blame the players if you don’t prepare, blaming the players takes away from what he did as a coach

He's an Alabama guy that went to Alabama and coached for Alabama... the only reason he would care is how this affects his coaching trajectory. Otherwise, why would he care about being the hand leading his lifetime most hated program into the furthest depths of mediocrity?

I would relish the chance to be paid millions to lead Bama or Florida to losing to a SunBelt team that went 2-10 the previous year.

That's a dumb argument. No coach would sabotage their career just to take a rival down. If Pruitt tanks us purposely or not, he will be like DD and BJ getting neverending analyst and coordinator jobs

Not gonna be the answer we failed hiring a coach again. Second season defense is pathetic giving up huge yardage rushing and 38 points to a very weak team. I know Pruitt is with us for this year and next as well but not gonna get it done this performance answered a lot of questions.

Are you listening to postgame. He is taking full responsibility

I was proud of the way Coach Pruitt handled the beatdown from the start to the end of the game and the presser...he now knows that kicking whiteboards and berating players on the sideline is not the way to coach and like you said he took full responsibility and I believe we'll get better from this beating...still believe we can get to 6-6 (what I picked from the beginning)...if you thought we would really do better, then you may be disappointed...this is just Coach Pruitt's second year...just don't give up on this team yet...lots of ball to play yet...and, as always...

GO BIG ORANGE!

Again, look at the numbers, he did enough to win, the numbers couple have been better but the reality is the defense was horrendous. The d line got blown off the line of scrimmage all day. We had zero pass rush, the secondary was lost, no backside coverage all damn day. If that unit was serviceable we win that game, end of discussion. JG isn't great but he's serviceable, he didn't lose the game for us.

How did Auburn win against the number #11 ranked team in the nation with Bo Nix's paltry 13/31, 177 yards, 5.7 YPA, 2 TDs and 2 INTs stats?

This was Georgia State, and we had to settle for 3 field goals, and couldn't even go for it on 4th and 1 because our QB is bad at making QB decisions. Being a good QB is more than high completion percentages, and good TD/INT rations. You guys have been hanging on the idea that somehow having good individual stats makes JG a good QB, in spite of watching him play with zero instinct.

The defense was terrible, but we should have been able to hang as many points as we wanted on Georgia State, a JG-led offense couldn't even score more than 25 against our horrendous defense, but he would have 62% pass completion and 213 yards.

I don’t really see where I blamed a player other than the fact we have no leaders. #19 said in the media he didn’t think they were prepared and he made two tackles the whole game what does he need to be prepared football is not that complicated. The only effort I saw on defense was #33 and he’s a running back. #2 is not a leader he may look great in practice against air but as soon as the pads start popping he’s scared.

Never said he was good. Just staying he wasn't the reason for the loss. I was much more worried about the defense. The defense was getting pushed around and couldn't cover.

Dude GTFO. It’s all on the QB. He checked down played scared and couldn’t sustain drives which GASSED our already mediocre D.

YES our D is mediocre DUH. Therefore we need a QB who can pull the trigger downfield to the STRENGTH of our O and score points and extend drives to give our D a fighting chance.

Quit being Captain Obvious and look through to the actual root causes of this embarrassing debacle. Otherwise we’re stuck in a “rinse / repeat” cycle. It’s like blaming a child for acting out in school when the parents created that mess at home in the first place.

I've never been a guy who says he have to hire an alum but he needs to show he gives a damn about Tennessee. If it's just about the paycheck then he needs to return most of it

I know from 2nd person relationship that Jason Witten’s dream job is to be the HC at TN. Now, that’s obviously many years away and we don’t know if he can even coach but we need someone who truly wants to be here AND understands the game and can coach football.
