Pruitt Speaks to SARK and CANADA

Once again, sir--you are asking the WRONG questions....

CJP has been vetted by 2 other NC winning coaches to be worthy of being a DC in the SEC.
CJP has been vetted by CPF--another NC winning coach--to be worthy of being the HC at Tennessee.

Just what makes you--or anyone else on this board--QUALIFIED to make any intelligent decision concerning CJP's qualifications to hire an elite OC?
How can you--or anyone else--make an intelligent evaluation of CJP's effectiveness in this process?

All you guys can evaluate so far is rumors and innuendos from those idiots who actually think that they know something--the most famous of which is the former coach Doug Matthews, a coach whose greatest claim to fame is that he knows CPF.

And there won't be any true valid evidence concerning the quality of CJP's hire until we've played some SEC games next fall.

Nevertheless--CJP keeps demonstrating his diverse HC talents in building the nucleus of an outstanding recruiting class this year.
Those HS recruits are believing in him and the coaching staff--why can't you?

Once again--please tell me exactly what CJP has done that has given you reason to doubt his ability to hire an elite OC?
Once again--exactly what qualifies you as CJP's coaching peer? I have nothing to qualify me.
Once again--exactly what qualifies you to even evaluate CJP's process of hiring our next OC? I have nothing to qualify me.

Possession of information does not equal intelligence or wisdom any more than knowing the letters of the alphabet enables one to spell gnat!

I’ll think for myself and draw my own conclusions but thanks for your contributions to the OC discussion.

At this point, it's better not to press and take someone that is a good fit vs taking as much time as needed to the get the right fit. Pay them whatever it takes and get the right person.

There's no doubt that the offense sputtered at times; especially in2017. Still, offense just wasnt a major problem last year like the defense was.

All the assistant coaches getting fired is a classic desperation, CYA move by Dan Quinn. Arthur Blank is tired of big game failure like the Super Bowl, against the Eagles in the playoffs, all the close losses early this year...

If you don't consider kicking white chalk boards and screaming at other coaches sideline antics then that you man. I'm Entitled to my opinion, it's backed up by the fact he can't hire a coach. The fact you blindly defend a God that you don't even know especially after his very rude antics that have been described by others is very fascinating to me. Are you in love with him? To seriously sit there in defend a man you don't even know especially in the face of other people talking about how rude he is is mind boggling. Can you grasps that?

Go beyond Big Orange Country. It's not like every other school has their O coordinator spot filled. In fact at IU (Indiana) our old friend Debord "retired" and they're anxiously looking. I'm sure there are more

I'll give you that. It just seems, over the past few years, that we struggle to do things as efficiently as other schools. Maybe it's just me.

Congratulations!! 4 days into the new year and you may have just locked up the dumbest post of the year and really showing to be a crybaby. Obviously you've never played sports because you don't think people should yell or scream at anyone. That's the problem nowadays everybody gets their feelings hurt if everyone doesn't give in to their childish ways and tell them what they want to hear. Can't hire a coach?? How the hell do you know that??? He hasn't found the one he wants yet, sorry that doesn't fit your timeline, go back to video games while the adults talk. Go ahead and flame back I'm looking forward to it!!

If you don't know God, then that's on you. You seem more than willing to condemn a man that you don't know based on innuendo, rumor and other people's opinions. Hypocrite much? Maybe you should go back to your safe space.

361 days to go I would think that there would be dumber.....

Of course they do. That's also not relevant to the point either.
We re talking about young coaches learning things the more they do there job.

This "fluff" from fans (of all people) sure seems to bother some. Does it really bother you that much that people that follow UT football think and probably even hope that he"s legit to the point they may have convinced themselves he will be?

In the long game it doesnt matter. The last guy figured that out when he thought everyone should be happy with missing Atl and the Sugar Bowl with the best team in the east that year. And a MCB win is what legends were made of.
No it doesnt bother me what people think, I just think its stupid.....wouldnt you agree that a cosch that hasnt coached a game probably shouldnt be crowned a "great head coach?"

Let's see - his first 2 coordinator hires were Sherrer (doesn't call plays) and Helton...

Besides, this is a message board, what else are we supposed to do?

Donate money, write a letter to the AD, put a copy of the letter in the suggestion box outside of CJP's office, and post on Volnation for everyone to see....please follow the steps above as outlined and you will receive a response when whoever replies.....

OK let's look at it a different way. Those kids were so jazzed and jacked up about how he has acted and treated people around him they really sold out and one those last 2 games to go to a bowl game. O no, that's right, they laid down and got trashed by Missouri and Vanderbilt. Man they really went all out for their head coach didn't they?

“He’s a no-nonsense type of guy,” Chryst said. “It’s similar principles that I have seen around other elite programs. The formula is simple, but it’s not easy to execute.”

“I mean, he brings a different kind of energy. He’s definitely more of a players’ coach,” Tide senior outside linebacker Ryan Anderson said of Pruitt. “A lot of the guys are more willing to sell out for the guy because he’s willing to do it for us. It’s a different style.
“He puts his players first. We all appreciate that.”

“It’s great working with him,” senior middle linebacker Reuben Foster said.

“He’s the type of guy that does country coaching,” Evans said during the interview. “He’s very patient. I think that’s what makes him a great coach. He’s a coach-player type guy, and what I mean by that is he teaches you about life. He’s always implementing something that he’s been through in his life. He’s always trying to help guys that are going through something off the field because if something isn’t right off the field, it translates over to on the field.” - Rashaan Evans

Defensive back Damian Swann said Pruitt brings something to Georgia that was missing under Grantham:
“The demand. He tells you what he wants, and he demands it. And I don’t mean that in a bad way — he shows you. He’s an excellent teacher.” “I know some guys left,” Swann said, “but I want to play for this guy.”

Richt smiled when asked if that was a rude awakening for some returning players.
“I’d say maybe there was a little bit of a shock to their system,” he said.
“He doesn’t have time for a guy who’s not serious about learning what to do. He’ll get on the guy and then that guy will just move (down) the depth chart. He’s following through on what he said in the first meeting, which is, ‘I’m not going to give you what you want, I’m going to give you what you earn.’”

Lamarcus Joyner on Jeremy Pruitt in 2013: "You have no choice but to draw to him. He's a natural leader."

Im not going to bestow that honor until he is. He wasn't going to garner that from me in year 1 anyway. That kind of talk probably won't surface for me til much later. If he gets there.

But Im not gonna tell some one they shouldn't hold that idea as a fan if it doesn't bother me or I don't care either.

Why not? You do it all the time on other subjects.

Starting to think it doesn’t matter who is AD, President, HC or Money Man...we just can’t seem to get out of our own way. Paralysis by analysis, overthinking till it’s stinking, can’t seem to s**t or get off the pot. The thought process and lack of ability to make a decision, much less good ones, by the powers that be over there is excruciating.

The GM and HC need someone to blame. They aren't going to go down if they can fire someone else and save their own jobs.

To some extent I agree, but with the GM and HC being full aware of the injuries to the offensive personnel, if they'd still been happy with Sarkesian's performance in spite of those injuries, then I don't think they'd have let him go.

I hire staff all of the time. If I interview someone for a job that I have already filled, I am either an idiot, incompetent or a jerk. I don't believe that CJP is any of these things. We don't have anyone after a month of searching, while every other vacancy at every other school has been filled for weeks. I'm not asking for insider information, but a little info from the athletic department would be nice, (they run it like it's the NSA). Don't ask me for money and then tell me that things aren't my freaking business.

I wasn't aiming my anger at you. I'm just a little frustrated with this whole process.

Interesting point. I have been trying to justify all of this entitlement from our fans. But I have to agree, if and only if you are a booster, you have the right to know.

If a general donor to the school, I don’t feel like that is the same thing.

I will say this. Over the last two years, numerous schools have gotten their guy at different positions in a way we have not for different positions. But depending on how Pruitt works out, the most telling hire about our program may be Houston’s recent HC hire. Billionaire booster went out and bought him a coach that I think is going to flourish there.

I still have high hopes for Pruitt and company. Great recruiting this year so far. Good wins last year. Weak schedule next year. He has five years. I just hope they aren’t all as frustrating as the last several have been. The struggle is real...

Let’s try to stay positive people!
