OK let's look at it a different way. Those kids were so jazzed and jacked up about how he has acted and treated people around him they really sold out and one those last 2 games to go to a bowl game. O no, that's right, they laid down and got trashed by Missouri and Vanderbilt. Man they really went all out for their head coach didn't they?

Given the history of UT admin hiring coaches, I tend to side with that, given they have offered little to no proof that anything has changed. Seems to me that when the UT admin guy tried to clear himself of.stopping the hire, if the sec had stopped it he would have just thrown them under the bus....he.didnt.
I highly doubt the NCAA stopped it being that he is now coaching in the NCAA.
So until UT proves that it is not a complete disaster, it is.

But to the main point, are you under the impression that this hire is going.well?

I had a HS coach that broke 3 white boards in one year. So yeah, that's worth a good chuckle. You re gonna have a hard time with most any coach at this level if that's your bar. I'm gonna guess this is a Pruitt thing tho and the rules wont apply evenly given that. I'm sure your post history will probably back up that idea.

It's funny that I'm defending someone I dont personally know but you ve come to the extreme opposite conclusion while not knowing him either. And since were leaning on others opinions of him I ll stick with a current player on our teams opinion of him that I know. Feel free to latch on to Pollock and Murrays.

Your are entitled to your opinion yes. However silly that may be. I'm not here to take that away from you at all.

lets look at this in reality , those were not his players.He cant make those players give a crap. Those were the crap players Butch brought in. They were garbage from day 1. You make zero sense. Remember when the same exact thing happened under Dooley and those were his players. If that is all you got then you got nothing. Just so that you know. I live in Ga and most of the fans I was around and still around did not want to see Pruitt leave.

Freeze? Yeah, I think he would have been a good hire. Theres a couple other I wouldnt mind. I dont think Sark would be all that bad or Applewhite or JBC, but he will stay in nfl.

Really, I dont think it will matter. I think CJP is a micromanager that wont let his OC do his job and so he is going to struggle as a head coach for a while. I listened to a segemnt in a channel about Mark Stoops and his career development. One commentator said Stoops struggled until he figured out that being a head coach has very little to do with coaching football. So I think Pruitt will be similar.
Add to that, his relationship problems are pretty well documented, especially at UGA. Add to that, he doesnt seem to be a good motivator. In his stops, he has always had top flight talent all over the field, something he doesnt have here.
So just being honest, I think we are in for another coaching search in 3-4 years.

Which gets back to my original point.

The other 3 teams that reportedly had interest in him (oddly enough they have combined to win 7 of the last 9 NCs) all either passed on him or were turned down for Liberty.

While UTs admin has done a plenty over the last decade to pick apart as foolish, in this case they lined up with 3 other schools that have been at the pinnacle as of late. With one of them being the bar.

So Stoops with some experience has progressed as a coach after figuring some things out but it's unlikely Pruitt can improve based off one season.

Go beyond Big Orange Country. It's not like every other school has their O coordinator spot filled. In fact at IU (Indiana) our old friend Debord "retired" and they're anxiously looking. I'm sure there are more

And of course, pruitt can improve as we learns. The question is will he? I have my doubts. Mainly because he is fluffed up (fans proclaiming him great before his first game) and difficult to work with / for. Well see.

It's not an either or tho. The last guy not only left a poor foundation in talent and development but also a toxic culture that takes time and major changes to fix. You can believe that and also realize that Pruitt is green and has a lot to learn as a coach.

They all 3 had/have an opening just the same as UT. Freeze is considered in the top tier of offensive minds.
Neither of those 3 have ever been considered scared of a little controversy in the name of winning football games.

Why would they not be?

Seems hasty if your gonna use a guy that took 6 years to figure it out as an example.

Why would fans that have a fluffed up opinion of him have any bearing on his ability to improve as a coach?

The "difficult to work with" tag is just sounds too convenient. There are a lot of successful coaches in all sports that are that way and have been that way their entire careers. I'm not sure that carries as much negative as some think.

Tennessee has far higher expectations thab Kentucky. Pruitt will be given his time to figure it out, I just have my doubts that he will.

The fluff from fans has just lead to higher expectations. But what Pruitt does have in his favor current, is that fans are willing to constantly move the goal post in defense of him.

The difficult to work with is showing....with the Helton / OC (lack of) hire.

I like his rude antics, he makes the weenies blood boil. I've also never lost one second of sleep over hiring an OC.
