Notice how fast he had his staff hired last year. Part of what got him the job. I think he revisited on why he selected Helton and wants to get it right this time...fast be damned!Where is is that you believe Pruitt developed these 'mad hiring skills'? Did Saban reach them to him at Alabama? Richt? Jimbo?
Whether you like it or not, Kiffin is the best. Lots of so called Vol fans have much too big of an ego to admit it ! Just be real honest and answer one serious question.....................name only one offensive corrd tht is better !!!!

Fulmer and his inflated ego would stand in the way of that move. I think many UT fans would love it. I agree he's one of the bestWhether you like it or not, Kiffin is the best. I just know that CJP and those who actually are involved in the process know a whole hell of a lot more than I DO!!!
CJP has proven he can coach DEFENSE at the highest level.
He led us to beat 2 ranked teams this year with absolutely crap for talent...one of them a SEC West opponent on the ROAD which hasn't happened here in at least 5 years...and before you say it---MIZZOU and VANDY had WAY better talent than we did....
And HE appears to be killing it on the recruiting trail this year after a 5-7 season....
I'm not trying to be a smartazz or anything---but you're asking the WRONG QUESTION....
Just what makes 95% of the &*^%$(*& on this board think that they know more than CJP does about hiring an OC???
That's the question that needs to be asked.
Just because a message board exists doesn't mean that folks should open their mouths and expose just how ignorant they really are!
And I seem to be one of the very few who will be honest enough to confess that I don't have a clue how it works to hire an OC....
Hiring a local janitor or a high school kid to work at McDonalds doesn't qualify one to know how the process works in the SEC...

Then "top-notch coordinator" should go get a head coach job because that's what head coaches do.
So, how does being a good defensive coordinator, translate to automatically being effective at interviewing and evaluating potential employees?
Or are you of the mindset that once hired as the head coach at UT, these personnel management skills just manifested themselves in Pruitt like the holy spirit?
he didn't get an offer. I'm sure if Canada didn't want to put up with hi-jinks, he would not waste time interviewing.
Just going by this.
The poster is right. CJP is a million times more qualified to make a hire than anyone on this board. He also has an AD that should help him make a great hire. If he knows football and X's and O's as good as most think, which I think he does as well. You don't have to be a CEO for Amazon to know what you are looking for in a great OC. You just challenge him in a mind game of X's and O's to see how quickly he can make changes on the fly and how far he thinks ahead of the D scheme similar to a chess player looking several moves ahead across the whole board.
