I love Pruitt doing it his way and not giving one crap about what the fans think. This won't be a hot take, but the guy is a good leader. I just don't buy that there's no one out there willing to take 1.5 million dollars to coach offense. He'll get it done, and he doesn't feel pressured to do so by the fanbase. Butch would have, Dooley would have, glad he doesn't.

I honestly think the plan was to not even care about the OC hire until after ESD. I honesty believe he still has that Bama/Saban mentality of “the good coaches will wait for our offer” and that mentality has allowed him to miss out on a few options.

I have a business and I've got friends I wouldnt hire to work for me.

He didnt seem to have a problem hiring his initial staff and to date there hasn't been a mass exodus of those guys getting out however to where ever they could.

That doesnt mean every coach loves him. But they dont always have to either.

I'm with you on that. That to me is the #1 reason I feel we haven't made the hire.....CJP being a new HC and dead set on some type of ground-pounding game isn't how football is being played by many teams these days and these good OC's can put 2 and 2 together and feel like CJP is gonna be a hard azz to work for. IMO CJP would be better off putting the entire offense in someone else's hands and let that OC choose his own staff. I do not feel that is gonna happen so get used to being around 120 in the nation in offensive rankings.

I'll check with Brent. Haven;t seen where anyone said Pruitt offered. All I've seen Brent say was there were UT sources thought it was headed that way but broke off and ended..
