Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

Dear Coach Pruitt,
I have been coming to games since the 1950's. I have seen good, bad and ugly games/teams. You are correct that I could have driven the 3.5 hours to attend the Orange/White game. I am not butt hurt for being called out for not attending. I will be there in the fall for home games and will cheer wildly at the Vol Walk, will cheer wildly at the Pride of the Southland Band's salute to the hill and will cheer like crazy as the band forms the T and the team pours onto the field. What happens next is up to you and the players you coach. I will stay til the bitter end if we are in the game and putting forth an effort that is worthy of watching. If not, I will leave to get a jump on traffic to drive 3.5 hours back home. But I will always be a Vol fan. And I reserve the right to call you out if you do not meet my expectations.
Go Big Orange!

You guess? LMFAO

As as matter of fact I know I'm not

Yes though, I am serious about KB's post

First thread I looked in. Two different posters...

"The last 10 years was actually caused by Fulmer. He is the one that let the program get fat on his watch."

"Fulmer didn't "leave," he was canned after completely destroying the program."

I think you are confusing yourself, are you asking a question? Are you whining? Are you whining about whining? Is coach worship effecting you ability to express an idea?

Why is it you seem so angry and hateful?

I thought I would ask instead of giving my opinion.

I'll give Pruitt this... Appealing to the majority of our delusional fans who think attending a spring game makes any kind of quantifyable difference to the results in the Fall was a brilliant stroke of awareness on his part.

Dear Coach Pruitt-
I know you want people to show up. I was THERE for the O&W game. In your next presser, can you tell this guy to stay home? Not only was here there every game, but stood up and read messages on his phone the whole time, even when a commercial was on, or an injury time out. Jeremy, from my seat, I like watching the body language and interaction the coach has with the team on the sidelines. Can't see through this brick wall. If you could just want everybody BUT HIM to show up, I'd appreciate it.

Best Regards... VFLptcarter

A simple " I would like to have seen a a larger turnout from the fans on this beautiful day, but I understand as a team we have to earn that"

That gets equally chewed apart...never underestimate! :aggressive:

i find it funny that so many that didn't care to go to the game, now care that the coach cares you didn't care.

Thanks to ptcarters photo I was able to individually count fans , and then using reverse mirror imaging to extrapolate a final total of fans which was ...exactly 7, 234 and a 1/2 . making CJPs comments valid .
We need to step it up folks .

Or, he is trying to tell 17 year old kids that Tennessee is special and the fans are special, he wants to get kids to come to Tennessee over bama and UGA, how does he do that when the fan base can't even pack the stadium for a free game, just for reference, since Kirby started at UGA, they have had some of the best spring game numbers and some of the best recruiting classes, maybe that is a coincidence, or maybe the guy that makes millions recruiting players sees it as a way to get more of the type of players he wants to come play for him. He has said since the beginning that it will take the fans helping, he is just trying to light a fire and get those fans pulling with the team, not against.

93,000 showed up at Kirby’s first Spring Game at UGA in 2016. UGA Paid $75,000 to have Ludacris play for 15 minutes.

Just sayin’ that it was impressive because my boy and I were there.

He’s now a VFL...

Coach CJP will learn...

GBO!

I'm in Nashville. Finally got a nice Spring weekend that I'm not knotted up with business. I could've driven over and brought a few seat fillers with me. If we'd hired Gruden, I would've been there and would've expected to pay for the privilege. If we'd hired Leach, I'd make the drive for a freebie event. To watch Pruitt, they would've had to pay me at least a weeks salary. Let me know when the coaching search is back on.

So, instead of working, caring for a sick relative, getting chemo, or some other reasonable excuse, you chose not to come because of butt hurt. Thanks for clearing that up.

We saw that picture last fall. It ain't the spring game.

UT had some talent show winner from TV play before the game lol does that count?

It really doesn't bother me that Pruitt commented on the fans. As I stated earlier, could've just been frustration. I've done the season ticket thing for years, but as I consider that I have more days behind me than I have ahead of me, I'll go if I can and if I want to. If not, I really don't give two $**ts who says or thinks what. And neither should they care what I am or am not doing. Personally, I think 60K was a fantastic turn out considering we've been an abused fan base for 10 years. Pruitt gets a lot of grace from me for the time being.

I have no problem with what CJP said. We have expectations for him and the team and he has expectations for the fans. Georgia had 90+ for Smarts first Spring game, recruits notice.

The people complaining about CJP's comment will be the same people complaining when some of the recruits there today commit elsewhere.

And before I get some response like kids do not recruit based off attendance at a spring game, imagine if today Neyland was rocking like a home game in September.

Blue chips go to schools that win championships, not where fans fill up stadiums for spring games.

I have heard enough talk from Tennessee coaches. When I see a Vols team that actually believes they can beat Bama when they take the field (in Tuscaloosa), and closes out a game with Florida where the outcome isn't in doubt on the last drive of the game, then I will pay the money to fly to Knoxville to watch his spring game.

The fans are not the problem at Tennessee. Tennessee has the best and most loyal fans in the country without exception. The problem has been the three coaches hired since Phillip Fulmer left. The JUVINILE, THE JERK, AND THE JOKE ! Jury is still out on Pruitt

Ok, I'm in ... the Juvinile [sic], the Jerk, the Joke...

and... the Jeremy!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. We already know who that is.
