Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

I have to say that sounds like a "Good Enough" statement. UT is done settling for "good enough". Pruitt wants championships. You don't win championships settling for third, whether its on the field or in spring game attendance in the stands competition.
Good Enough is Good as Gone!

I am continuously amazed at the number of people on here who cannot make the distinction between the players and the fans. When you say "Pruitt wants championships. You don't win championships settling for third." That has absolutely nothing to do with the people who sit in the bleachers! We're not part of the team, folks! Want proof? Miami was completely dominant in the early to mid 2000's and they couldn't beg for a sellout back then. Success on the field has very little, if anything to do with how many fans sit in the stadium! He doesn't coach us. We are not on scholarship here. We are fans who pay money to go be entertained for 2 and a half to 3 hours every Saturday. When it comes to the fans, Pruitt needs to shut his mouth, put a winning product on the field, and the rest will take care of itself. I can't believe so many on here don't grasp that concept.

On behalf of post #1100, and numerous more threads in volnation on the same subject, right here.

Wait are you saying there’s 1100 post in this thread without “ NOBODY” being offended ? I’m really confused now .. is we is , or is we ain’t ? 🤔😂

Lol. You can say that about any topic on this board in any forum really. Post count doesn't mean much. Its getting slightly more run because football is in a holding pattern now that the spring is over. It will go away like everything else thats not a big deal pretty quick.

This is a crushed out bud compared the last 5 years.

Dont really understand why anyone is upset. He wanted more fans there so the recruits could see what a special place UT is. Medicated society that everyone gets a trophy syndrome. Put your big girl panties on and deal with it.

So if i understand you correctly, you are mad at fans because Pruitt was mad at them? So Pruitt is part of the medicated society that his request want met because he has "everyone gets a trophy syndrome?"
That makes sense, tell Pruitt to put his big girl panties on and deal with it.

A simple " I would like to have seen a a larger turnout from the fans on this beautiful day, but I understand as a team we have to earn that"

And for some reason, you equate this to calling fans the same as some of the players, quitters. Asking Bama fans not to leave games that are blowouts sure didn't create the firestorm that's blazing over here. You can decide why so many vols have taken exception to it.

Are you kidding right now man? There were news stories, it was talking about on radio, fans made signs and shirts to commemorate the occasions etc. It was pointed out during follow on games that people were not leaving. Lok

As a veteran of volnation and numerous other forums, you're full of it.

It's getting the run it's getting because it struck a nerve. It's gotten attention at the SEC level and the national press was happy to pick it up. I might even turn into the Paul Finebaum horror show in a couple of minutes to see what folks want to discuss today.

And because there is nothing else to talk about surrounding tennessee football. Noone will dare hype up out season, so we are left with nice things being said about our coach and him saying dumb stuff.

You missed it, having the most fans in the stands was its own competition. He wanted to win that too. I too am appalled at the number of people that can't grasp things.

I would fall out of my chair if the next interview or PC he says,"Ill have to get back to you on that after I ask the fans how I'm supposed to say it,aight."

By the way, some fans are and were offended or mad or whatever over it. Some of yall probably weren't but this thread length and some posts is proof of that.

2. some weren’t here for legitimate reasons = Folks who see no problem with the comment
3. and some should have been here and weren’t. = Folks butt hurt about this comment because it applies to them.

Would it have been as nice as whining about a comment made by CJP about same said game on an internet message board?

Asked during his appearance on "The Nation" on Sports Radio WNML in Knoxville if he had gotten any feedback about those comments, Pruitt said he hadn't.

"I've been working," he said.

Pruitt then praised Tennessee's fan base and those who showed up, but in his eyes it wasn't good enough because he wants everyone who associates with his program to be thinking and aiming for more.

"To me, I think we've got great fans," Pruitt said. "I think the attendance was 65,000, and that's great. The people that were there, they've done a fantastic job.

"To me, if we're going to do it, our goal is to be the best at whatever we do, and that's the way we're going to look at it as a football program."

I think you are confusing yourself, are you asking a question? Are you whining? Are you whining about whining? Is coach worship effecting you ability to express an idea?

But wait......but wait......but wait. Those quotes/comments from Pruitt make it seem like he thinks the crowd was great, that the fan base is great, and that he only wants Tennessee to be the best we can be at all facets. But that can’t possibly be, since he clearly called out all Vol fans on Saturday and pretty much said we all suck. We should all be super offended and hate that damn Bammer.....matter of fact, we should also hate Fulmer even more than we already do since he’s responsible for everything bad that’s ever happened at Tennessee, ever....and since he hired that meanie face Pruitt.

No one has ever said or implied such nonsense. Just stop it. All you're doing here is adding to the notion that our fan base is one of the dumber in the country. Thanks

You can't be serious.

I guess you don't consider yourself as part of the dumb ones. Funny, no one does.

Based on his comments on this team and the lack of positive ones throughout the spring, I don't think he should be surprised that there wasn't 80-90k fans there. Especially it being televised.

Like another poster said, he needs to remember how horrible the last decade has been for Vol fans... Fulmer's ouster-firing, the Kiffin love/hate exodus mattress-burning extravaganza, the Dooley/Butch eras, 4-8 & 0-8, being dominated by our rivals, and the cluster-F of a coaching search(es).

anyone offended by Pruitt's comments have a severe case of pantie rash.....

Seriously who cares, we finally have a coach who doesnt sugar coat **** and is competitive as hell.

Just curious, are you ever able to hear something stupid and not be offended by it?
