Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

Some of it is a lack of talent, some of it is undeveloped talent that can be fixed over time.

He can't do anything about the first but recruit over it. He has a opportunity to change the second but that requires a willing player that accepts being coached a different way and you re not guaranteed to get that on all counts. In which case your back to the solution for th first described solution.

But he does expect the fans to stay for the entire game since players have to play it.

I, for one, am glad he was not satisfied that it was not a full house.......perfection is always the goal......anything less needs improvement.......

I have to admit its a bit embarrassing for me to know about this and you to seemingly not.

From 2013 Saban on fans leaving early during blowout games:

Alabama suspended the block-seating privileges of 20 student organizations on Friday, meaning any student can sit anywhere in the student section for today’s game against Tennessee.

The school lists early departures and excessive tardiness as "unacceptable behavior" under its block-seating guidelines. Another violation could result in a suspension for the rest of the season.

"I’ve talked about players playing for 60 minutes in the game and competing for 60 minutes in the game," Saban told Al.com. "And, in some kind of way, everybody that choses to go to the game should stay there and support the team for the game."

And if you don’t want to stay for four full quarters? Well, Saban doesn’t want you there at all.

"Maybe if you’re not interested in doing that, you should let someone else go who would really like to go because I have a lot of people who want to go," Saban told the site.

"We have lots of recruits there, we like to see an enthusiastic full stadium," Saban told Al.com. "We have a beautiful stadium and one of the nicest venues in all of college football and I think we all should show our appreciation for it by staying and supporting our team for the whole game."

Given the auspicious circumstances surrounding coach Saban's coaching opportunities at the time, the very next week you could see signs in the student section, "We'll stay if you will." He did and we did.

Im glad too.

Dude was just hired as HC at a major college program for the first time, after a monumental debacle of a coach search that involved firing the AD of less than a year and hiring the NC wining HoF Ex coach.

He saw how passionate the fan base was with the Schiano mess and has been in Neyland and seen it rocking. He has to be on cloud nine, how could he not be?

After all of that he thought there might be a few more at the spring game and he said so.

I don't fault him for his excitement and wanting us to be excited and to be a part of it.

Golf and your dog farts are more important to you than the spring practice? Fine. Cry.

And thats an interesting point in a way. If a win there is important your focus is in the wrong place. Having said that, you can win both or lose both.

Dont really understand why anyone is upset. He wanted more fans there so the recruits could see what a special place UT is. Medicated society that everyone gets a trophy syndrome. Put your big girl panties on and deal with it.

And for some reason, you equate this to calling fans the same as some of the players, quitters. Asking Bama fans not to leave games that are blowouts sure didn't create the firestorm that's blazing over here. You can decide why so many vols have taken exception to it.

I have to say that sounds like a "Good Enough" statement. UT is done settling for "good enough". Pruitt wants championships. You don't win championships settling for third, whether its on the field or in spring game attendance in the stands competition.
