Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

Jaded by it? I live 175 miles away. I am an alumnus. I was an athlete in another sport there. I competed in SEC championships for the University. I am a Vol letter man. I've given monetarily to the University AND athletic departments. I've stayed for games in all kinds of inclement weather. I've been all over the United States to not just football games, but other athletic events as well. I listened to every game on the radio while growing up in the state.

Sorry, but you literally have no f'ing clue as to what you're talking about
And yet there were people that haven't done as much or even more than you for the university, yet they drove further and still showed up when you didn't. He'll there is one poster on here that drove from Austin Texas, but you and you alumnus status couldn't be bothered to make it 175 miles.

Comparing Bama to UT right now doesn’t make a lot of sense. One team just brought home another championship and the other won 4 games.

Nebraska also went 4-8 last year and their stadium was full. And they charged admission.

He has NO PAST. This is his first head coaching gig. It was a "rookie" mistake he made yesterday with that stupid comment.

We, as fans, don't have to earn anything. I've "earned" my ass off so I can go to a few games a year and support our student athletes.

Our fans are such fragile pansies! Man up!

Exactly we don't owe him support because he has no past as a HC, just like he doesn't owe the fan base any consideration of what support you may or may not have given the previous staff's, that means absolutely nothing to him and his team's moving forward. He wants excellence from his team and the fan base that supports them, if you aren't on board with his expectations the I'm sure you could just ignore football and cheer the other money making sports.

Had other plans. Will likely have other plans next spring too. I will though, be in Neyland come late summer and autumn and then in T/B for most of home basketball games.

...

No, im saying that if you live within an hour or so and chose to go do some menial task instead of spending a few hours supporting "your team" then you have no right to get mad about what Pruitt said because you are the type of "fan" he was talking about. Its one day I. The spring not 12 in the fall. If you have season tickets and can go to a game every other weekend for a few months then you should be able to go to a single free"game" in the spring.
So you set the priorities for folks that live within an hour drive?

Funny i dont see many folks mad about it, just think it was a stupid thing to say, there is a difference you know?

So... are you really telling another adult how he should spend his time? What exactly qualifies you for this job? We're all Vol fans, bruh.

Bama had 75,000 fans at their spring game in a town of 99,000. Tennessee couldnt break 65,000 in a city of 850,000. Still want to compare? The turnout was pathetic, as a fan that has never lived close enough to go to a game (went to one game in 99 when my family was given tickets)I could only wish to be there in attendance, yet there are some "fans" living within spitting distance that couldn't be bothered to go watch a free afternoon of football.

850,000? That's the Knoxville statistical area, not Knoxville proper. Knoxville proper has 110,000. Check how close Birmingham is and how many they have and get back to me. Your comparison is way off.

Am I the only person who thinks it strange that Pruitt criticized the fans for not filling the stadium to capacity -- in the very same presser that he brutally trashed the team's performance? We've watched ten years of worse than mediocre games, and we are supposed to fill the stadium for his mediocre spring game? He should be happy to see fifty plus thousand fans watching an exhibition that he was so upset to watch.

You couldn't be more wrong but that's your mantra right now.

So, are you ignoring the whole statement that some people had legit reasons or are you just being disingenuous for no reason?

Or, as to your status, remarkable idiots.

I have season tickets and try to go whenever I can.... Yesterday my son had a baseball game so I was unable to attend the orange and white yesterday.... coach challenged his players and challenged the fans to support as much as possible..... it’s idiotic spending two days whining about.... you are an idiot.... man up!

Again, this is an example of legit reasons why he wasn't there, kids in sports, not going just because you didn't feel like it isn't a legit excuse if you consider yourself a fanatic, if you don't then obviously this comment isn't for you, but then I would question what you are doing on this fan page.

You, son, don't decide what's legit. That's a fact you seemingly can't grasp. It wasn't even a real game

Keep calling me son and we will have problems, I ain't ya d*** kid and I've earned my own damn respect as a combat wounded veteran.

Some folks are so eat up with coach worship, they will support anything he says.

I'm not whining about it. I just thought he made a rookie mistake and shouldn't have said it. Fans should be the least of his worries. I did Man up, Son. I shot 68 yesterday

Here we go again setting other peoples priorities.
