Pruitt Is Not The Answer

I'm off the Pruitt train. Honestly think he felt bad for hurting waddle and didn't wanna blitz Jones cause he doesn't wanna hurt bamas chances of making the playoffs. Night in day difference blitzing Jones than not, also wasn't like our weak zone defense was helping, wrs were catching balls all over the field.

Fire him this year, we kept butch a year too long.

At some point even Fulmer has to ask him, WTF are you doing out there?

Unless he's just waiting for the opportunity to step in and name himself HBC after he releases Pruitt.

This is completely theoretical. I’m not saying that Pruitt is/isn’t the answer. If a billion dollars hit the AD next week, I’m not even sure we could get out of our way and get it right. I’m just bored and stuck at my in-laws. If you were the AD and could land a coach not named Meyer or Stoops, who would it be?

Stoops

Well Bob, it's exciting times here at Tennessee to be 5-0, heading down to Bama next weekend...

5-0?

80 percent.

12 out of 15 losses.

For the " yeah but look at Dabo crowd..we should be patient"....Swinney had 1 25 + point loss in his first 4 seasons.

Yeah the Dabo thing is wearing thin.

A better comparison for the argument of longevity and patience, would be Mark Stoops....

But Mark Stoops develops talent, and does more with less...

So like nevermind.

Pruitt is going to be around for at least another year. It would be a disaster to make another coaching change, and the program can't afford it anyway. If he beats Florida everybody will settle down.
Agree, but that's a tall order at this point. Let's beat ArKansas

While that is a very ugly stat.... and I’m not trying to defend Pruitt..... Jones did leave the program in talentless shambles..... year three ass whippings should be minimal though

In no way can the current performance by TN Football be attributed to Jones. This is ALL on Pruitt & the guy who hired him and it’s bad, real bad. This is year 3 for Pruitt and his team looks awful, the offense is woeful.

Yay for the extension!

This. At the time I hoped it was just a ploy to help recruiting, and may have been, and also gave Fulmer credit for standing by his guy, but it's starting to look like a mistake. Hope Pruitt proves differently.

I'd give Sarkisian a look. (I know, another Bama asst...but he's not a true tater digger).Winning record in a power 5 conference as a HC. I know the way he left USC was less than desirable, but if he's got his life in order (and I don't think Saban would keep him around if he hadn't) I think he could be a great coach.

The more significant statistic would be what percent of LOSSES are by double digits rather than total games. Somebody figure that up. I don't feel like screwing with it.
Well, he's 15-15, and 12 of his losses have been 21 points or more so 80% of Pruitt's losses have been by at least 3 touchdowns.

Try to drag Bob Stoops out of retirement again since the XFL isn't playing in 2021.

It is working pretty well for UNC and Mack Brown going the grizzled veteran route.

If you have a billion to spend may as well throw the money around for him or Meyer.

As a caveat, I see no way Pruitt gets canned this year or next barring losing out.
