Lmao. You are such a clown. JG has us in position to win the BYU game and did more than enough to beat GSU.
The defense and line play lost both games.
The run game was bad. Not because of JG. He isn't the reason we got stopped on third or fourth and short those two games.
Be real. I know it's hard for you to do.
Pure, unadulterated BS. The D busted one play. Otherwise they held BYU under 300 total yards. JG couldn't keep the O on the field. That game shouldn't have been close enough for one bust to be the difference.Defense lost us the BYU game. Don’t try and make it sound like it was JGs fault.
Indiana and GSU are two entirely different situations. Indiana will be the best team we've played since Alabama. We will have to play very well to beat them.
2. Maybe.Come on, we're on a roll, did anyone pay attention to our last five games? There is no stopping this machine-it isn't a question of If we will win--but with JG as qb--- by how many TDs!!! If Indiana is going to give their players and staff etc. bowl rings (win or not) they may as well hand them out now, they'll be in a better position to forfeit the second half.
Had nothing to do with route running, running backs, line play, catching, play call or anything about missed tackles, defensive misalignment coaching, nope all JG.Pure, unadulterated BS. The D busted one play. Otherwise they held BYU under 300 total yards. JG couldn't keep the O on the field. That game shouldn't have been close enough for one bust to be the difference.
There is always fault to go around... but the biggest factor was ineffective QB play.
Difference is, these are "fan comments"...not player comments. We have seen growth and maturity as the season went along. IU didn't beat any team with a winning record. Doesn't mean a slam dunk for us, but I think if we come out and play a good game, we should have a good day.Based on what I’ve read from a segment of the fan base, they believe this game will be a walk in the park.... It’s the same comments we read before the GSU game.
He was the critical factor. You are welcome to stick your head in the sand all you like.Had nothing to do with route running, running backs, line play, catching, play call or anything about missed tackles, defensive misalignment coaching, nope all JG.
Would you prefer the team and staff spend time improving overall for next season or specifically preparing for a team Tennessee plays on average once every 30 years?
Do regular season & conference games next season matter more than bowl/exhibition game this season?[/QUOTE]
Good question, and a reasonable question based on the number of posts regarding bowl game and recruiting. It appears we have a large number of five star players waiting to commit to UT, as long as we have a big Bowl Game Win. Then there is the school of thought that says, "We are on a roll, and will keep rolling-rolling-rolling-until we're not", in this case, a loss in a bowl game would "stop the roll". I am of the belief that SEC wins are really all that matter, we are in the SEC, we should be focused on winning the SEC Championship. If we do win the SEC everything else will take care of its self. How many powder puff games we win (so we can brag about a win, and get a low level bowl game) is okay, but SEC Wins, beating BAMA, GA, FL et.al. is where it is at. Far too many fans have forgotten that there is a SEC Championship game!

Specifically, no. The WR's were solid from the start. The RB's are what they are.... an understood weakness. The OL was improved right out of the gate and have pass protected well all season. No. Not a lot of drops. Play calling? Not by a long shot.
The D needed time with a DL that had no experience. That was known. They needed an experienced QB to make plays, score points, and keep them off the field early in the season. They needed help they didn't get from their offensive team leader.
Pretty much every group played as expected and some better... except UT's 4th year QB. He stank. I give him a ton of credit for his late season recovery. If the JG we saw vs UK had played vs BYU and GSU those games would have been the laughers we expected. But he didn't. Pruitt himself said that QB play was the difference in them being a 1-3 team going into UGA rather than a 3-1 team.
Just keep lying to yourself. I have never "hated" JG. Criticism isn't "hate". I know that the culture here personalizes things in such a ridiculous way that criticism is viewed as "hate"... but it is STUPID in the extreme.Just keep doing your hate
LMAO. "Busted one play." Like it wasn't the one play that lost the game.Pure, unadulterated BS. The D busted one play. Otherwise they held BYU under 300 total yards. JG couldn't keep the O on the field. That game shouldn't have been close enough for one bust to be the difference.

He was bad. Pruitt was surprised at how badly he played and said so publicly. He didn't want to bench him but eventually he was so bad that there was no choice. You don't bench a QB who is playing great like you seem to think. The same receivers, RB's, OL's, and defensive players continued to play. Benching a QB is on a whole different level than benching another player... yet they felt he was hurting the team so bad that playing a true Fr before he was ready was the right thing to do.
I've given JG credit for improving. I won't lie about his negative impact early or previous to this year. We'll see if he can sustain.
He was benched after UF and might have never gotten a shot to win the job back if Maurer hadn't fallen on his head.He was benched for his play against alabama.
He said it. I'm not sure why you are struggling to remember when JG got benched or the well repeated statement from Pruitt. Maybe it is something inconvenient for you to remember?Never heard Pruitt blame a loss on JG.
You can't be that stupid.... unless you are another k-town alter ego.As for GaSt defense should never give up that many points, but yeah guess you are right JG missed too many tackles and allowed to many long runs by the GaSt QB
The D played good enough to win. JG didn't. Which is why after his performance vs GSU, BYU, and UF.... JG was benched.LMAO. "Busted one play." Like it wasn't the one play that lost the game.
That is like a player missing a game winning free throw. I guess to you its not bad because it was "just one."

A young D was on the field too much. They didn't play well but it was the O that couldn't score points or move the ball to keep the D off the field. Everyone knew UT's DL would take some time to come around. There were injured players that were going to be missed. Do yourself a favor. Go back and watch that game again.
From the end of the 2nd qtr until the last TD against very soft D... UT had 6 drives averaging less than 5 plays and less than 20 yards. JG was ineffective in moving the O. GSU knew that if they were even somewhat tight in coverage that JG would check down or eat a sack. They played him just like they'd seen on film the previous season.
He said publicly that with better QB play UT would have been 3-1 entering the UGA game. It was discussed at the time here. If you want to be ignorant... I won't stand in your way. JG gets a ton of credit for pulling himself together and playing like they expected him to at the end of the season. But he was a primary reason or THE primary reason UT played so poorly at the beginning of the season. He couldn't move the O and score points against two teams UT should have smoked. They probably would have had a shot against UF and/or UGA in retrospect if he'd played then like he played at the end of the season. The only evidence I have that Pruitt blamed a loss on JG is You, in other words no evidence at all
You're doing a good job of making a case otherwise.I am not stupid, surely you're not that big f an ass, well yes i guess you are
Read again.... SLOWLY. GSU went soft at the end of the game with a two score lead. They went prevent to try to make UT drive the field and run the clock. That is why that last drive was successful where the O had floundered for about 2 quarters against a D that would go on to give up 42 to Furman, 57 to Western Michigan, 37 to Texas St, 38 to Ark St, 33 to Troy, 45 to ULM, 56 to App St, and 38 to Ga St. They were 9th in the Sun Belt in scoring D and 8th in total D out of 10 teams.... and JG couldn't move the ball against them. Their season high in sacks was against UT... and don't delude yourself into believing UT's OL was worse than most they saw in the Sun Belt.So you mean to say UT faced a very soft D, what the H was GaSt facing?
UT's O led by a 4th year QB kept UT's D on the field far too much... remember? They scored more points remember?
They had iirc one career start among ALL of their DL's. We all knew (unless one was stupid) that the D was going to need a lot of help from the O. The O needed to score points and stay on the field. But you want to place the blame on guys who had no experience over a RS Jr QB?Tennessee has/had a ton of more talent than what they faced you have to know that, unless your that stupid.
