I wholeheartedly agree! How do you explain how he got in that chat? There isn't a good answer for it.

Most plausible explanation:

Somebody (most likely Mike Waltz) has used Goldberg as a contact ..... and he knows it looks bad, so he is lying about it now.

Clearly, someone in Trump's cabinet during the chat royally screwed up. It appears to have been Mike Waltz.

However, nobody will ever take ownership of their mistake. Instead, they shift blame towards Democrats and the media for making too much out of it, when they would react in the same manner, if the roles were reversed, and a Democratic Party Administration had done the same thing.

Fox News would pounce on a Democratic Party National Security team for something like this.

But it's also why Trump should hold Waltz and Hegseth accountable. Rather than pointing to the Democrats' failures as an excuse for their own, the Republicans could prove that they care about such things as minimal competence.

A journalist was included in a group chat on an unauthorized mobile app where a pending military operation was being discussed by a national security team. If you want to downplay it, at least be accurate about it.

.... and we are 2 months into Trump's term. Give it time. The clown show is just getting started.

If Goldberg had put Hegseth's information on the internet on March 11th .... instead of sitting on it until after the operation had been completed? They damn sure wouldn't be calling Hegseth's information unclassified. Trump would be calling for Goldberg to be prosecuted for treason.

I think what he is saying is, because it was a hostile journalist, it makes it hard to understand how this could have happened. Goldberg didn't hack his way into this chat. He was invited. The only way that was possible is that someone in the chat had Goldberg's contact information stored .... but why would they? It makes no sense.
