Welbeck definitely loves playing against LFC.I agree. The drop off even with big investment is staggering. I feel like he can only save his job if he finishes top 4 and wins FA cup, or wins Champions League outright.
Danny Welbeck kills you guys
No way any of those clubs were Top 10 worldwide value at the times they went down. I think it would be almost impossible to figure out for certain, but I’d wager that it’s never actually happened before.City in 2001. Chelsea in 1988. Spurs in 1977. Prior to that it was United in 1974.
Crazy though Villa and Newcastle both went down in 2016.

Didn’t realize just how rough Spurs’ run in is. They’ve got Sunderland next, and Wolves in late April, but aside from that, every other game may be against a team needing points either for Europe or survival. No real solidly mid table opponents who are likely to already be on the beach.
Yeah, this is what I was getting at. I’m trying to put it into historical context but I don’t know enough about how the power and money have shifted in Europe over the decades. I don’t know of any other time something like this has happened. United in ‘74 is the classic example thrown around in the British press but I’m not sure it how well it fits here.No way any of those clubs were Top 10 worldwide value at the times they went down.
