I’m sorry but it’s a LIE when you witness a practice and every qb looked equal in their own rights and he reports that JG looked far and above the others. It’s a LIE when he cherry picks a positive play from JG out of said practice to report when JTS or Maurer or both did the exact same thing (hence my quote to you last night about the 73 yarder). It’s a LIE when he reports a particular pass from Hendon Hooker as if he was the only one to accomplish such a pass only to learn later that it was caught on video and posted on social media of said pass. Only the video showed more impressive passes made by the other two. It’s a LIE when he reports that “HH is CLEARLY #1” when he obviously knows nothing more than anyone else. And every report to this point certainly seems to be a LIE after what we all seen in the spring game. Turns out every bit of what he said was the complete opposite. HH looked like JG and not good at all. Maurer was nothing like he had reported outside of big play ability and Bailey didn’t look to be so far behind in accuracy. All the evidence points to an ongoing LIE. And none of the evidence points to anything even resembling the truth.I don’t always agree with the guy myself, but most of what he releases is his personal take based on his own observations. Quarrel with that as is your wont, but characterizing them as lies is personalizing your disagreement. I disagree with MANY of your observations, but I’m sure I haven’t interjected LIAR into any of our arguments. I think you believe what you’re saying...think the same of Austin. Nothing wrong with just calling them...wrong.
He made some nice deep throws and put receivers in situations to be successful. That's plenty flashy for me. I think you are pretty unfair with Maurer. He's a different style to be sure but he wasn't reckless that I saw. Just different. He's going to take more risks. That's his nature. If he can give you the big plays and avoid the big mistakes then he's going to be good.I know I’m not saying I think bailey is boring, I love his game, he just isn’t flashy and everyone seems to think this offense has to have a gunslinger mobile mentality. When all Bailey does is make the proper throws.
Hooker only took snaps with the first O this past Saturday. He came out second but took the first series with the #1 O. Maurer and Bailey split time between the 1's and 2's. Hooker threw 14 pass with the White team while Maurer threw 6 and Bailey only threw 4.When did I say it would? I think Milton isn't good, I quite clearly said Hooker is the one most likely to transfer out with him coming in.
Because Bailey has now shown all last season in game and now in his first spring in game that he is the better QB. I don’t think any QB on roster is necessarily All SEC but HB is the best QB on roster again. Maurer is definitely more reckless. He tries to do too much when HB just finds the open guy and gets him the ball.He made some nice deep throws and put receivers in situations to be successful. That's plenty flashy for me. Why are you so "either/or" with the QB's?
It’s his OPINION. For it to be a LIE, you need us to buy that he KNOWS differently. “CLEARLY” is in the eye of the beholder. And we’re basing everything on what we glimpsed on Saturday. He glimpsed smaller batches in smaller sample sizes. You’re applying some agenda to the guy because you’re so personally offended.I’m sorry but it’s a LIE when you witness a practice and every qb looked equal in their own rights and he reports that JG looked far and above the others. Not exactly. He beat up on the scout team this past Saturday. He only threw 4 passes vs the 1's. He did what was asked of him but you have to look deeper before declaring him the better QB. And you should probably ask yourself why so many of his plays and throws came against and with the "Orange" team. You'd also have to know what these guys did in the previous scrimmages and team periods which none of us do.Because Bailey has now shown all last season in game and now in his first spring in game that he is the better QB.
Johnny Manziel was reckless... and really Burrow was too. The latter learned to control it... and it made him great.I don’t think any QB on roster is necessarily All SEC but HB is the best QB on roster again. Maurer is definitely more reckless. Gotta base it on a total body of work and for 14 practices Bailey has been behind. One good day shouldn’t change that when he was facing inferior competition on the defensive side of the ball. Maurer faced the starters more than all of them and to boot, he only had the offensive starters once.

You have a bias. For some reason you've chosen a "horse" and find it necessary to ignore anything that weighs against him and then dismiss or even unfairly criticize the others. Why not pull for all three guys? Why not look for the good in all of them and acknowledge the bad?

I wouldn't call it "lying". But he does report a narrative based often on his personal biases. It’s his OPINION. You make great points, peaygolf!I voted B Maurer.
Only reasons:
1) I like his story
2) he’s got moxie
3) CJH recruited him at UCF
What anyone does in Spring Game means nothing. It’s like pre-season NFL. If the opposite was true, Joe Gilliam would be in the HOF and Terry Bradshaw would still be trying to make country music. Also.....I don’t care who wins the job......just play well!
But why do that at this point? Why take shots at a guy who is obviously still in it? It only sets you up to root against him if he wins the job.Maurer ain’t it in my opinion.
It's still wide open until August and i believe it could be Harrison Bailey,Brian Maurer or someone else.

Sportwriting (and human) tendency. Make the “facts” fit what you believe.I wouldn't call it "lying". But he does report a narrative based often on his personal biases.
I believe his narrative to be false or questionable because he does do some of the things 1vol8 described. He focuses heavily on some things while ignoring things that do not align with his narrative.
Maurer played the highest percentage against the #1 defense. By a wide margin at that. I'm comfortable saying he's number one at the moment.I completely agree. Idk how many more times a QB has to prove they’re the best in game. Did it all last season and this weekend again. I’m not saying he’s going to be the greatest but he is the best QB on THIS roster again.
That's true.Pinpoint on your pass attempts is the same whether you are playing against a great defense or mediocre defense. Bailey was on target.
The competition at quarterback is still wide open and nobody has pulled away. No reason to be an arrogant schmuck.
