Post Spring Depth Chart

I met Colton's Dad at a game tailgating and he was laughing about the rumors. They could not be further from the truth on so many levels that it makes you wonder how much truth is actually on this site. Still can't stay away considering I live in Bama.

Gotcha. My hope is that there was just too many things to fix. Now that they have other things in line, they can work on the passing/receiving game. We don't even have to be much of a deep threat. If we can work the mid-range routes and more specifically the middle of the field....our offense will be amazing. If we can also add the deep routes...our offense will be pretty much unstoppable.

We're of the same accord Baldy.

What about Bates? Is his development still not coming along , I really had high hopes for him...

I'm no keyboard warrior and my posting history here reflects that.

It's all these keyboard critics who feel empowered to be so personally insulting to a member of the UT athletic family who's done nothing except walk on to the football program and try to chase his dream. Well I'm certainly no warrior, keyboard or otherwise, but I've decided to take a stand for what is right. I don't know Mr. Jumper, but I'm willing to pay the bail for the privilege to jack one of you cowards in the mouth! If you're brave enough to spout your crap at a game, I'd like to believe I'm not the only person who's willing to do so. I'd love to see a whole group of real UT fans give one of you types a beat down at a game.
If I was you I think I'd pick a better football player to get my azz kicked over, maybe a key contributor like josh dobbs or Derek Barnett. Cam, jrm, and kamara came back for their senior season, they ought to be more azz whooping worthy than Colton jumper. Aim higher

Where do you guys come up with this crap?

We've recruited some strong LB talent the past couple years like Smith, Sapp, Bates, McDowell, Bryant, Berry, and Bynum who are all competing with Jumper for the current back up roles behind Maybin and Kirkland. Jancek and now Shoop both appeared to believe in Jumper enough to play him, yet you guys have declared him the worst player in the history of UT football? If you truly believe this, then isn't Shoop the worst talent evaluator in UT football history also? Obviously not, as the top programs in the country want him as a coach.

Be warned, I've heard about all of this I can take. If your sitting near me at a UT game this fall and Jumper takes the field and you start ragging on him then I'm going to quietly punch you in the mouth. No athlete representing UT deserves this type of disrespect. Mr. Jumper appears to have earned the respect of his coaching staff - maybe you raggers should follow their lead.

I am going to more games this year just so I get a chance to punch somebody in the mouth.

Let's sit together.

Swing and a miss....its not the player, its the arse clowns trashing on him or any other player in such a personal manner. These guys simply don't deserve that.

Also, I doubt anybody who would trash a college athlete in this manner would be very formidable in a brawl. My "azz kicked" concern is on the lower end of the scale when dealing with the Eddie Haskels of the world.

Nice Write up Mr Jumper

bull crap, he's plenty fast enough. Did you not see him escorting E Berry down the field on that last second interception return in the bowl game? If berry is fast, so is Jumper.

By escorting, do you mean trailing? Cuz no, Jumper is not as fast as Berry.

He's much faster than Bynum

Hey Biopsyman - you think this is Mr. Jumper also? :loco:

Anybody who has anything positive to say about the young man can only be his father right?

If the plan is to start using pass catching TEs in the slot more often (we haven't seen that too much in the past), then it definitely makes me like his chances of getting playing time more.

He still needs some time in the weight room if the plan is to use him like his big brother though.

There's been much talk about dropped passes and missed opportunity and justifiably so. I think the plan is simple, get the best hands on the field

I think a lot of the Jumper hate comes from people seeing that Kirkland was the better talent and the team played better when he was in, even from game 1, but Jumper still started over him. Then it came out that the company that Jumper's dad is the president or CEO of became one of the top donors to the athletic dept last year. It looked really fishy

Even with all the talent Kirkland has and he has plenty, maybe he just wasn't ready playbook wise. He was a true freshman. MLB is not a place where you want a lot of missed assignments. If Jumper was ahead in that area maybe they just thought there would be less totally busted plays. It's not like Kirkland wasn't out of position many times himself when he started getting playing time but he pretty much got a pass on here. As they both should have. Don't get me wrong, I think Kirkland will be all SEC or possibly more but I'm sure the coaches played who was the most ready at that time. Insinuating $ the reason at that level is just stupid.

So in 2015, CBJ was paid $3,600,000 to service as coach / CEO of the UT football program which generated over $56 mil in revenue. How much does it take to buy a player onto the field? I don't know how much the elder Jumper may have or have not donated, but he's no Pilot Oil type donor.

If I've got a sweet gig making $3.6 mil a year, there's no way in hades I'm not putting the players on the field that give me the best chance to win thus allowing me to keep the sweet gig. I doubt CBJ got to his current position by taking stupid risks or being bought off by a donors. This isn't your local HS where some donor Dad remodels the locker room and his son becomes the starting QB. Do you realize just how outlandish this theory is to a reasonable thinking person?

Thank you. :hi: Dumbest conspiracy ever hatched on this board. :pinch:

Solid post neither played very well first 2 games . Jumper was where he supposed to be most of the time but missed tackles or interfered on pass. Kirkland over ran plays and was out of position a lot but going 100% all the time...go back and watch the games. The game has slowed down for Kirkland and he passed Jumper. Jumper is a solid back-up. unless you hate gingers...

When people say a defensive player isn't fast enough it normally is referring to their reaction time, not their 40 time. Defense is read and react, it has to be instincts built on practice and study. Jumper seemed to be a step slow bc he was over thinking what to do. In football if you're going to mess up then do it while giving 100% effort, not while going slow and making sure you don't miss anything. This mindset was reiterated by Butch before the UGA game when he told them "all the mistakes are on me, you just go out there and play on instincts and don't worry about messing up"
