I'd put McDowell in at 2nd string MLB before Jumper.

God help us if Jumper sees the field.

He should be a clown in the bull riding circuit.

I think even with all the talent we have at WR..Jeff George has to be out there...best opportunity would be in the red zone and give him a chance to go up and catch the corner route.

LOL. No chance Robertson backs up Richmond at LT. Hurd will play TE before that happens.

Our depth is insane when you see it all on paper like this. I gotta stop getting on volnation. The season is way too far away to be this hype for it lol.

I like the youth presence. I just wish we had a starting spot on D for Berry.

Our 2-deep looks really really good. Literally no weaknesses outside of backup MLB and backup DT.

I don't trust Colton Jumper. And with no other options, it's imperative that Kirkland stays healthy. He's the second most important player on the roster after Dobbs for that reason IMO. Danny O'Brien is solid but we need another body in the middle. Hopefully Alexis Johnson is cleared to return. I don't feel comfortable with a 4 man rotation.

Of the freshmen, I think Tyler Byrd and Latrell Williams will find a way to get on the field. They're too good not to.

I wouldn't go that far. We have guys in the 2 deep who haven't played a snap of big boy football.

Is Kirkland better than Jumper? Yes. Can Jumper improve? Yes, and I'm sure he has so let's not treat him like he is an opposing player.

As far as the DT rotation I am not too terribly concerned with depth at all. Mixon can always slide inside for a few snaps and Picou is the smaller, quick DT that will play in blitz situations. We should be fine.

George did not have a good spring! He had a good spring game because so many WR's did not play. Will see if he gets a chance when everyone is healthy. According to reports, he had lots of drops in practice. We will see!

Was gonna ask if Bates is still around, still injured or what, any updates?? :dunno:

Who else do we have Blair or Kendrick?

I imagine that if Richmond goes down, our RT goes to LT and the third OT steps into RT. Like what happened with Kerbyson when Gilliam went down in 2014.

After that, Blair might be an option, or they may move Jack Jones or Coleman Thomas to RT and have the next RT go to LT. That's assuming that none of our true freshmen OTs will be ready to go.

If Robertson is playing LT, then we'll have had 3 OTs and at least one other interior lineman go down and our season is screwed anyway. Robertson never has been and never will be an OT. I'm not trying to bad mouth him; I think he's a great OG when healthy. But he's just not built to play LT.

isn't it obvious he doesn't?

Zing! Oh man, you got me.

I'm willing to bet if Jumper doesn't play in the games we lost last year then chances we could have pulled out 2 more W's greatly increase.

He's not the sole reason we lost but he was a matador on some key plays and TD's we gave up on D in those games.

He really opened my eyes in the spring game. Dude is going to be a weapon for sure, especially in the red zone!

I agree that George kinda struggled this spring, but I don't quite get your logic regarding how he played in the spring game. Are you saying that he made some nice plays, had some nice catches high pointing the football in the O&W game because Malone, Perry, JJ and Josh Smith were injured and didn't play? Seems like two different issues to me with neither one being dependent on the other.
