Post NSD Two-Deep heading into 2017

Don't count out Dormady from starting or playing well. I honestly think he can lead the team. I haven't seen any negatives from his game. His passing ability looks pretty solid and he's underrated in terms of mobility. He won't be a Dobbs but he has the ability to escape pressure. If the o line holds up then I think he'll throw for 20+ TDs.

Wasn't sure how you were going to flip my comment into "shame on the coaches" but had faith you would lol.

Season before last, I believe he gains more yds in a different style. Last season, once they figured out to wrap his lower legs, and still no holes regardless of formation, I think he was going down. That's just my opinion but re-watching games, there was an obvious Achilles for tripping him.

Back when they tried to meet him with a traditional tackle, no doubt he was dangerous.

Pretty sure the "competitive book" on 6'4" 225-240lb Hurd from the moment he stepped on campus was to hit him and wrap him up low. You learn that in pee-wee football....the bigger the player, the lower you hit him.

Hurd was mostly always good, but very rarely "dangerous"....he just never scared anybody 4-5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage imo.

I agree. He never got any snaps with first team talent for the most part. It will make a difference.

We'd know more if he'd had to sub for an injured Dobbs at some point.

My gifs of him bowling over people that tried to tackle him high are some of my favorites.
Guess they skipped peewee? Idk.

So you are missing a 3rd running back.. id say Kelly, cfa, chandler

Defense: kongo and Phillips start at DE and at DT we see a rotation of McKenzie, shy, paul Bain and maybe a mix of the fresh man Crosby, who looks mean af but will prob be red shirted. I also see mixon sliding throught all positions on the DL. Todd Kelly isn't playing LB please stop.. also I see baylen starting at corner over mosley or martin.. both of them sucked last year.. our entire secondary did. Nigel should be all over the field as well though I don't think he starts. ALL JUST IMO GO VOLS !

Post em. Make sure you post the one of him trucking the 175-lb DB who was already on his heels when Hurd "ran him over". Don't think that was that DBs intent, guessing he would've hit him low had he not been caught in no mans land there.

Got any of the other 300-400 Hurd runs where they hit him low and tripped him up and/or tackled him low?

2 things will dictate next season:
1. Whether or not our quarterbacks are actually what they were advertised.
2. Can the team stay healthy. Especially the offensive line.

Lol, note to self.
Things that send KB into a trailer park Frenzy

1. Talking about the way defenders tackled Hurd.

2. Ever saying even the slightest negative thing about Florida.

I'm on my phone right now, maybe when I get home. Or you can look em up your effingg self.

the offensive line should actually be kinda deep. not like superstar deep, but deep.

we're really thin in the front 7. so health will matter a lot there. and this spring, summer and fall camp are critical for all DL and LB....we need to see some guys develop. quick. we have #'s in the back 4. just depends on if those reps they got this past season pay off, and they can get better, even if it's just organically (ie, experience just "makes" them better, regardless of being coached up, or not)

there's just a lot of questions, and a lot of transition for 121. there's no real superstars. while my expectations for the program, in year 5 of this tenure should be higher, it just so happens (but not really) that year 5 also shows us losing a ton of star power, and we're breaking in 5-6 new coaches, and a brand new qb.

i think if you're "expecting" 9+ wins, it's pinned on hope, and not much really all that tangible.

A frenzy? Lol. There's no frenzy. You just made a statement that seemed a bit ridiculous (DCs only decided to tackle Hurd low in year 3) and then you mentioned your Hurd GIFs. You're the one dropping "eff" bombs. Have a good one Charger, maybe mix in a nap or something. Can't wait to see all that video of players deliberately tackling Hurd by his shoulders in 2014 and 2015, should be fun.

2016's expectation was pinned on tangible star-power, and we lost 4 SEC games -- injured star-power doesn't translate too well to wins.

I'll just have to trust that these coaches are more tangible than last year's, and can keep this team healthy and pull them together to get a few more wins this season.

I'd argue that it was based on not just talent, but overall playing experience, and experience in CBJs system that set the expectations for the 2016 season.

We don't have enough 4* and 5* talent on the roster to expect to compete for even the division title without coaching making an impact.

even if the coaches are better, and i think they are, i don't think they can have enough impact in this short amount of time to get this team over that hump.

last year's expectations had everything to do with 18 returning starters, SR. QB, loaded backfield, strong front 7....

if this team gets to 9+ wins this season, then everyone will have to shut up because this staff will have done more, with less, than any other previous staff CBJ has had on the hill.

if i were a betting man, i wouldn't bet on that happening. give this staff a couple of years to recruit, and develop, and maybe they do start to match the talent to their respective resumes and the results change.

i just don't think it happens in the span of 1 off season.

for all intents and purposes, CBJ is getting a chance to start over, again....we'll see if version 2.0 of the BSIA can get better results.

They're going to lean on him with a new QB and experienced OL.

He could wind up top 3 in rushing.

I actually think having a new QB will hurt him. If our QB doesn't make the defenses respect his passing game teams will load the box. Let's hope Jarrett or Dormady whoever starts can sling it

Roster doesn't look as bad when listed out like that but I'm pretty confident T Smith will not be starting game one over Richmond. Also, I would think Josh Smith would get the nod over Brandon Johnson starting at WR, even though I really like Johnson.

Josh Smith is just a hiccup away from the injury list.
