Wasn't sure how you were going to flip my comment into "shame on the coaches" but had faith you would lol.
Season before last, I believe he gains more yds in a different style. Last season, once they figured out to wrap his lower legs, and still no holes regardless of formation, I think he was going down. That's just my opinion but re-watching games, there was an obvious Achilles for tripping him.
Back when they tried to meet him with a traditional tackle, no doubt he was dangerous.
Don't count out Dormady from starting or playing well. I honestly think he can lead the team. I haven't seen any negatives from his game. His passing ability looks pretty solid and he's underrated in terms of mobility. He won't be a Dobbs but he has the ability to escape pressure. If the o line holds up then I think he'll throw for 20+ TDs.
Pretty sure the "competitive book" on 6'4" 225-240lb Hurd from the moment he stepped on campus was to hit him and wrap him up low. You learn that in pee-wee football....the bigger the player, the lower you hit him.
Hurd was mostly always good, but very rarely "dangerous"....he just never scared anybody 4-5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage imo.
My gifs of him bowling over people that tried to tackle him high are some of my favorites.
Guess they skipped peewee? Idk.
Post em. Make sure you post the one of him trucking the 175-lb DB who was already on his heels when Hurd "ran him over". Don't think that was that DBs intent, guessing he would've hit him low had he not been caught in no mans land there.
Got any of the other 300-400 Hurd runs where they hit him low and tripped him up and/or tackled him low?
2 things will dictate next season:
1. Whether or not our quarterbacks are actually what they were advertised.
2. Can the team stay healthy. Especially the offensive line.
Lol, note to self.
Things that send KB into a trailer park Frenzy
1. Talking about the way defenders tackled Hurd.
2. Ever saying even the slightest negative thing about Florida.
I'm on my phone right now, maybe when I get home. Or you can look em up your effingg self.
the offensive line should actually be kinda deep. not like superstar deep, but deep.
i think if you're "expecting" 9+ wins, it's pinned on hope, and not much really all that tangible.

we're really thin in the front 7. so health will matter a lot there. and this spring, summer and fall camp are critical for all DL and LB....we need to see some guys develop. quick. we have #'s in the back 4. just depends on if those reps they got this past season pay off, and they can get better, even if it's just organically (ie, experience just "makes" them better, regardless of being coached up, or not)
there's just a lot of questions, and a lot of transition for 121. there's no real superstars. while my expectations for the program, in year 5 of this tenure should be higher, it just so happens (but not really) that year 5 also shows us losing a ton of star power, and we're breaking in 5-6 new coaches, and a brand new qb.

2016's expectation was pinned on tangible star-power, and we lost 4 SEC games -- injured star-power doesn't translate too well to wins.
I'll just have to trust that these coaches are more tangible than last year's, and can keep this team healthy and pull them together to get a few more wins this season.

Roster doesn't look as bad when listed out like that but I'm pretty confident T Smith will not be starting game one over Richmond. Also, I would think Josh Smith would get the nod over Brandon Johnson starting at WR, even though I really like Johnson.
