Possible bad news incoming?

i am assuming we will just follow the Saban script and do nothing and move on, right? If anyone in the media asks, we will just say that since everyone thinks Saban does everything right and has the best program, we are just trying to emulate them and do nothing....
Assume all you want. JJ walking away with no punishment (1st offense), for us and Hand (1st offense), getting no punishment for Bama makes us even for now. Depends on various factors IMO but failed drug screens normally result in a 1-2 game suspension for 1st offense. I know of one UT player on current roster who has served one suspension for drug-related issue last year. Callaway and a couple of UF players got into something this weekend that may be serious. :twocents:
All over the media now about 7 UF players being suspended for their opener vs. Mich. I was expecting Mich. to curbstomp 'em before these suspensions. I was also able to read a lot in VN recruiting forum on the matter after making this post.

Getting suspension for weed is a joke anyway ... should be legal , much better for ya than ethanol

Even if legal most (probably all) coaching would prohibit their players from smoking. Cigarettes are legal but I'm betting you'd become pretty acquainted with the stadium steps if CBJ caught you busting a Marlboro.

I looked at 247, the news feed has nothing. I didn't go to the message board, but if it's on there it is nothing more than folks talking about the same rumor. Bottom line there is no news anywhere that is reporting this as fact. GBO!!!!!

Thx

Unfortunately in my 13 years on Volnation my experience has been that these types of things turn about to have some truth.

In the meanwhile, I don't have a problem with the pot smoking or other crimes being committed in the program... but something needs to be done about these leaks. Its called loyalty folks.

Well in my 25 years on UT message boards rumors at this time of year are mostly either totally wrong or greatly exaggerated. GO VOLS!!!!

I'd do exactly this for a failed drug test. Make the media answer for their double standard. Most folks treat marijuana as an inconsequential drug anyway so screw it. Suit up and play ball with all hands on deck.

Ok, sorry. Poorly phrased. Your initial reaction is to worry about the media reporting, not the failure of the players to not fail drug tests?

Better?

I worry about the rumor reporting until it is fact, to worry about something that has not be confirmed is putting the cart before the horse. If folks worry about every rumor as fact they would stress out pretty fast. And again the media hasn't Reported anything yet. GO VOLS!!!!

I'd rather my kids smoke Mary j than cigarettes, drink alcohol or take other drugs.

If my kid had a football scholarship to UT, or anywhere, and one of the conditions of him keeping that scholarship was he couldn't smoke dope, I would rather he didn't smoke dope.

If this were true major outlets would be on it. Rumors are like a snowball they bigger until the hit the end of the hill. Show me proof instead of people pecking behind a keyboard and folks with no sources except he said she said. GO VOLS!!!!

Uhm, you wont find that here you are looking in the wrong place as we are all people pecking behind a keyboard

There are media members who act like they legitimately enjoy reporting bad news about the UT program. I continue to wonder how many other programs have to endure that from beat reporters

Think a Wes Rucker would last long if he were in Tuscaloosa reporting and acting the way he does here? No way. We seem "blessed" to have media types here who are adversarial to the program.
