Exactly! I've said this exact same thing. Our Defensive staff is pretty damn good. Our offensive staff is a bunch of Heupel's buddies. I really wish he would bring in an established OC and bring in a staff that matches what each wants to do. That definitely worked for Day last year. I'd kill to have a Hartline on our staff recruiting and developing.
Its obvious be results of last year to year and half that rest of SEC has receuiters. Now that Auburn no longer has mouth breathers, and Florida isnt a flaming turd we are back to bottom half in terms if offensive recruiters on staff. Stuffed in a locker is about right.

You cant develop the talent that isnt on your team. Sorry folks, thats on Huepel.IMG_8953.gif
Oh well, on ward and upward, morans.

The sooner he gets out of Coral Gables today the better IMO. Provo to Miami is a bit of an eye opener.
I knew this $hit might happen. Go down there on a Friday night, they show you the nightlife, offer your brother who won’t even play for Cristobal bc he’ll
Be fired, throw $$ at you and it’s a done deal. Probably left out playing 20 miles off campus, if front of a couple dozen people in the CW NETWORK

If only it was someone's job to figure it the hell out.

I love Huepel, and Ive given him passes aplenty.

Granted there is still time left. We are now in Spring, and we had the fall too. We simpy havent recruited well. Florida, SC, and others got better. Every time a Tamu player got called in draft, it made me shake my head.!

We had a golden opportunity after a playoff match. Instead it looks like we may be same if not worse at that position, certainly from depth perspective.

To me it all comes back to coaching. And, jury has been deliberating on Halzle and Pope as recruiters, coaches, and play callers for a while...
You’ve given the coach who rescued this program from the trash heap, has beaten Alabama 2x in 4 years, has produced 2 double digit win seasons in 4 years, and got us to the CFP in year 4…after taking over a program with 57 scholarship players, coming off a 3-win season, with an NCAA cloud over it and 13 years of mediocrity…”passes aplenty”?

How generous of you.

😂😂😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂

He’s usually a reasonable poster but he’s had some really silly take’s recently.

Massive amount of stupidity in this thread

Man these last few months in football recruiting / the portal have been full of absolute nut shots. Seems like no WR wants to come here.
When ESPN keeps saying route tree and lack of NFL trees at Tennessee while DT was being drafted, is no help at all. They can't say it once but hammer it over and over. I don't think the commentators hate Tennessee. I do think they want to try and sound smarter than what they are and it is the narrative being spun. It also may actually be true.

let’s play a fun game, name who you think were the top 10 offensive players here so far, and the top 10 defensive players here so far, and let’s see who and how they were recruited.

Offense (no particular order)
1. Hooker (Pruitt)
2. Hyatt (Pruitt)
3. Darnell Wright (Pruitt)
4. Cooper Mays (Pruitt)
5. Cade Mays (Pruitt)
6. Jalen Wright (was committed to the class prior to Pruitt being fired, was developed by our rb coach)
7. Sampson (Heupel/Mack)
8. Tillman (Pruitt)
9. Milton (Heupel)
10. Spraggins (Pruitt)

Defense (no order either)

1. pearce (Heuepel)
2. McCoy (Heupel)
3. Butler (butch)
4. Omari Thomas (Pruitt)
5. Alontae Taylor (Pruitt)
6. Josephs (Heupel)
7. Simmons (Pruitt)
8. Banks (Pruitt)
9. Arion Carter (Heupel)
10. Telander/west/Hobbs/RG3 (Heupel)

Not advocating for Pruitt in any way shape or form, just showing this to show how our staff has mostly relied on players who were here prior to them offensively, but defensively we have been able to recruit and develop the talent better
So what you are telling me is the best players on the team Heupel’s first 3 seasons weren’t signed by him, and were in fact older, experienced players by the time they played? Interesting…

Wow, what is going on? it feels like something is off, like big time. Vandy is getting commits, we're losing starters, 26' commits going elsewhere, not getting guys to visit at positions of true need and ZERO momentum for '26 and '27, it seems.

This feels like when we were on probation.

Personally, I think everyone has caught wind of our offensive staff and is blowing our doors off with negativity.

When was the last time we got a transfer commitment, at a position of need, of someone another school coveted?
Woe and Pendleton?

Boy. I'm sure Heupel is glad you've given him passes.
