Merk is gonna surprise people this year. Why some fans are sleeping on him is baffling.
What has he shown for me not to sleep on him? In the very limited sample I've seen he hasn't looked good. It's just the Spring game but there certainly was nothing to indicate I should be expecting anything great

And there you are @BOT. Exactly what everyone else is thinking.

Plus when was the last time a Soph QB at UT really impressed???

Wouldn’t be surprised if he played, but if he does and impresses then you’d be right.
I’d be surprised if.

I haven't seen many flashes from Merk. He looks like he needs another year to be serviceable.

Aguilar is much more polished. Seriously people, go watch some full games of his. It will be really impressive if any of our freshmen beat him out.

Hendon didn't look good in the spring game, spring games are not good at evaluating talent. Although it can CAN give you an idea, but shouldn't hold much if any weight.

I can't really blame Jakobe, tbh. He wasn't guaranteed the starting spot, and he doesn't seem to be on any NFL GM's radar. This is likely his last chance to make money playing football. If he can get an extra $100k or $200k, think about how that could change his life. It could mean he'll never have a mortgage payment, for example. And if managed properly it means he can retire a lot earlier than most.
Nor should he have been.

No, it’s Aguilar and then GMAC or Faizon time
I'd say its a 2 way qb battle between Merklinger and Aguilar, GM would benefit from sitting out and learning as much as possible. Merklinger has one thing going for him and that's familiarity the coach has to be able to trust you to run his offense his way. Then you add in QB to WR chemistry that doesn't happen overnight.

Love your dogs.

And despite the propaganda being spread by certain posters, Yetis do no not eat dogs. Or cats. So don't believe them when they try to say otherwise.

What he really means is he would love to eat your dogs.

Would you really trust this around your poor, innocent dogs?

Dobbs didn’t show you anything great until he did. Neither dor Hooker. Using the spring game as a barometer is dumb. JG looked good in spring games.
