I don't know what the deal is with Mauer, but he must have something going on (physically or mentally: he faced some personal challenges in the off-season) or I would think he would the nod. Kid is a baller and he is not scared.

But I thunk they will get HB some work after a few series. I think its cruel to throw him to the wolves against Bama. Might need a couple weeks and the bye to get fully ready. Imo, Let him settle down a bit watching, then hand him the keys. Just protect him and accept the lumps he may take. surely CJC can scheme up a gp for this kid.

The deal with Maurer is that he is a walking Concussion. How many has he had in his short amount of playing time? 3?

You forgot blames the defense for losing the game, even though they will bail the offense out till half thru the 3rd, when they are gased. Then instead of addressing the offense next week maybe there’s someone else to fire on the defense side.

Bailey was scout team QB the first week against South Carolina; Bittner who they moved from QB to WR ran scout team for the Missouri and Kentucky week; Maurer ran scout team for Georgia week and Shrout ran scout team this week.

“If” that’s his attitude I hope it does. That would be a final nail in that coffin . You can’t play $hitty and have a $hitty attitude to match it.

That is for sure! I think JG starts but think that's the wrong decision. Don't put in Maurer or Bailey in down 35. That doesn't show confidence in you to start down the road. That shows you are just getting reps. If you trust them, start them. Period. If JG starts, he will be the starter the rest if the year.

Don't need much of a defense against a team that plays JG. Mac Jones can put up numbers and has his offense avg. 48.5 pts in scoring, that is 25 more points than UT averages. Also, Bama sat some starters in the Mizzou game after it got out of reach. I have a feeling if JG plays the entire game we will only pad Bama's stats on defense.

He's had 4 freaking games to settle down. Good grief. Stop with this " throw him to the wolves BS". It's the SEC, there are no "ease in" games. We used a scholarship on him time for him to put his big boy pants on and go play. I buried friends of mine in the Marine corps that are younger than these freaking football players. So what if he throws a pick? He isn't gonna get killed over it.

Thank you for your service and I pray for you, your brothers and thier families.

As far as football, which no matter what happens will never be anything like actual war, HB has a lot to learn. And if he goes out, with no real off season, and has a JG like performance he could lose confidence. The fan base will savage him as a bust, blame everyone for him not being Trevor Lawrence amd that could hurt him long term and this year got pissed away last week vs Kentucky. So play Shrout if the point is to just not play JG, results be damned.

JG starts, but should be on a very short leash. First f*ckup, he's outta there. Would love to see Bailey in relief but will take anyway not named Jared.
