Plenty of blame to go around

I didn’t forget to mention it. It was a penalty. Blatant. Shouldn’t of happened lol. But no touchdowns resulted because of it. So it’s not a big deal.
Just cause they didn't score a touchdown doesn't mean it's not a big deal. If he keeps that up, it will cost us points and a game.

He was getting hands to the face against him the entire game from South Carolina’s O-line prime example is at the 1 minute mark in the 2nd Quarter. He finally got pissed and ripped dudes helmet off. I don’t blame him one bit.

Banks is better than Crouch. I'm sure that's an unpopular opinion. He's more instinctive, slips blockers better, and much better at getting to his zone drops on passes compared to Q. Really no excuse for the 2 penalties, but his ability to be a potential playmaker on defense stood out IMO...

Expected a sloppy, ugly game.

It was just that.

Take the W and move on.

Not so fast, no so fast there Bobalouie. Members of this fine website are here to politely help our coaching staff understand what we saw as our deficiencies, for we cannot allow the coaching staff to think we were really happy for a good portion of the game.

There are some here that still remember what really good football looks like win or lose. It dates a lot of people here either direction.

I dont have an issue with pointing out the good and the bad as long as its objective and logical.

💯agree. One UC was super stupid and the other was him being too aggressive (which I can live with), but he is better than Q and he laid the wood to several guys in the backfield last night.

It is much easier to teach a player to control his temper than it is to instill in a player speed, aggression, and a knack for seeing where the ball is.

Vols and Gamecocks don't like each other. That was evident on he field with all the clippings. Better team won and thats it. We executed the game plan and even though it wasn't perfect, we got the win. LSU would love to be 1-0 today.

That is due to poor play calling. We didn’t run much early and when we did, it was almost like we went back to a zone read. We needed to run right at them and let our line get it done. Should have been all we needed. Chaney should donate his pay for tonight.

I agree. I found the playcalling to be questionable throughout the game. We could have run the ball on first, second and third down, and probably scored just as many points if not more. SC was loading the box and I still think we could have run it down their throats all day. Thought it was weird we kept taking shots downfield on 1st and 10 and not 2nd and short.

As aggressive as Chandler was running.. I agree with you.

We definitely have upgraded our talent all over the field. Which, I think, is the reason we won the game. Coaching and play calling almost cost these players their hard work. Why are we not milking the clock with the lead late in the game? Why are we a pass first team? With the "best" offensive line in the SEC do we not pound the opposing defense? Is this our version of modern football? If so, then Tennessee is way behind on being an efficient, modern college football team.
Comments?

Still a dumb play. If the other team knows they can get in his head and make him do something stupid, they will Do so.

And yet you attempt to blame 1 single player for 2 penalties that resulted in 0 touchdowns for USCe.

Idon’t think I “blamed” anyone. In fact, I questioned why so many are blaming anyone for a win. Just pointing out that on the close games we are going to have, we can’t have dumb selfish plays.

I don't get it. Did we not win the game? And this was the first game ... with little (if any) spring practice, very limited scrimmages and consistency with players in the preseason. And this was not Georgia State or some other team where we could play absolutely terrible and win.

This more than likely is going to be a very strange and wild ride for the season - buckle up and be thankful football is being played to enjoy.

Jeremy banks cost us thirty yards for two useless penalties. I am all for second chances but he needs to be gone before he cost us a game. He needs to seek some psychological help before his life in completely ruined
This is stupid. Yeah he was Chippy but so was almost ever other player on that field. Learn from the mistakes and move on.
