Watching SEC Network coverage last night. Wife thought announcers were USC jr guys. Had to explain to her that Matt Stinchcomb was a Dawg & hates Tennessee. Uncle Lou' s daddy?

This type of performance isn't an anomaly. This was a GA State level bad performance- except good running by Chandler, a Defensive TD, and Gaurantano not putting our defense in bad field position.
This South Carolina team is early 1990s BAD! App State or Louisiana would beat them by 2tds at least.

Celebrate. It's a win, but I just see it as fools gold. Just delaying the inevitable...

Amen, this year is absolutely “survive and advance” against every team you play wether you are favored or an underdog. It was the first game of the year, we have not been able to practice the way we want to, and we were down several players on every level of our team. Does anyone think Kirby is happy with his team’s performance? Does anyone think Mullen is happy he gave up over 600 yards of offense, Jimbo winning by 5 over Vandy?, LSU losing to State? We are 1-0 and have Missouri next Saturday at noon Volnation! A little over a year ago we were 0-2 with back to back home losses to Georgia State and BYU. With all that being said, I am so grateful SEC football is back, Tennessee is 1-0 and beat Muschamp! Let’s get back in the film room, practice field, and work like heck to get better this week. Let’s stay behind this team and put on more steam together. I fully expect to see improvements every week and this team to grow just like we did last year. Everyone be safe and Go Vols!

I will gladly take an ugly road win against a conference opponent any day. There Is a lot to clean up like QB play. On a positive note, it looks like Bennett and Johnson have emerged as pass rushers. If Banks can keep his emotions in check and avoid dumb penalties, he should be a disruptive force on defense.

You just had an Oxymoron Moment from Heisman Candidate to Wide Open Receivers. A true Heisman Candidate would have blistered our Vols for 6 to 7 TDS he had 2 TDs (1 for SC, 1 for TN)

JG has the touch of a cow, good grief that boy can't hit a receiver in the hands on the run to save his life. Just painful to watch, please move on to Mr. Baily. Announcer mentioned we were 0 for 9 on 3rd down conversions, that will not get it with our schedule.

We should all remember this is a wacked year. Vols couldn't scrimmage because of numbers, players missing due to Covid...we were without Middleton, Soloman, and Shamburger, USCe was missing guys too. I saw enough flashes from both teams to think they can be pretty good. Two biggest problems for Vols is JG consistency, 1-9 on 3rd down and many of those were easy conversions with accurate passes, and lack of a pass rush from front 4. Every pressure on Hill was the result of a blitz. When we didn't get home, Hill made us pay. Until JG can consitently get the ball to the open guy and sustain drives the offense will struggle. Chaney had us in good plays a lot but poor QB execution cost us. CJP's defense can be really good if we can get a pass rush without compromising our numbers. Those are the two things holding this team back from being good enough to truly compete for the East. Unfortunately, I don't know if we can fix it this year. JG is JG and if CJP had a good edge rusher we'd of seen him by now. If this team had a Barnette and a Bray they would be a bad bunch!
