Pizza time?

I didn't know the US Secretary of Labor had oversight of international human trafficking and child labor violations. I assumed that would be a DOJ/FBI thing. Thanks for the correction.

Seems extra F'd up to appoint him to that post, considering his history of "handling" the Epstein complaints. It's not as though Trump can say he didn't know, given that the one girl was a minor in the employ of Mar-a-Lago, and Epstein being his personal associate.

Trump knew. I think Trump kept a distance after he knew though.

You're missing the point. Dude is getting ready to sing like a canary.
I hope so! Society needs to know who these guys are that think they're rich and powerful enough to get away with this crap. I don't care if they're democrats or even if Bill Clinton was involved. They need to be exposed for the scum they are.

I think we know how he made his money now also.

I'm just wondering which talking heads will be brave enough to try and spin the narrative that since the girls accepted money, they weren't victims.

Acosta should have been the last mf'er in the world appointed to that post... something stinks about this.

I think Acosta had the Rock and a Hard-place type deal based off of this thread. Acosta at the time was just a state attorney in Florida. Epstein committed crimes in multiple states, so this should of been kicked up higher than him. I would want to see what case Acosta actually had versus Epstein. Acosta is actually squeaky clean besides this mess.

I think you meant dumb enough. That would be career suicide. It's still against the law to have sex with an underage girl even if the girl is a prostitute and it's still sexual exploitation of a minor for the pimp/madam. There is no defense for it.

Well, since we are throwing around baseless accusations in this thread as per Q, SDNY means Trump is involved.

This actually started recently because Ben Sasse asked the DOJ to investigate it when Whitaker was in charge with the Miami Herald report.

I agree, and no self-respecting journalist would consider it. Although depending on who may be implicated, I somehow imagine that person exists.

I'm glad you mentioned the Miami Herald......dogged investigative journalism....a free and unfettered press doing their jobs...

I don't think any of the MSM do real objective investigative journalism beyond a segment or two. It's all done by independents.

Sorry, bud. You seem like a nice guy but the fact is, the largest child sex abuse scandal ever uncovered was not exposed by a law enforcement agency, but by the Boston Globe (as MSM as it gets) in January of 2002. It involved the Catholic Church. It started with one priest (Father John Geoghan) and blew up when it was discovered that he had been enabled and protected by a cover-up which included the Archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Bernard Law. Watch the movie "Spotlight" starring Michael Keaton, Liev Shrieber, Rachel McAdams (my girlfriend) and Mark Ruffalo.

Does this mean that the press isn't always "the enemy of the people" as a famous person likes to say?

Do we really have a Free Press? We have the mainstream press trying to suppress the independents on YouTube. We have a mainstream press that literally gets their talking points from the powerful. Only on CNN do you see a resistance that supported the bombings of Syria based on nothing. That is not a free press.

The press truly has changed in the last 20 years.

For what it's worth, Attorney General William Barr is recused from the Epstein case because he used to work for a law firm that had previously defended him. He wont be commenting on anything related to the matter.
